They play their own schedules, have their own 12-team playoff, and let the rest of Div I-A play college football with a bunch of feel-good bowl games and an 8-team NIT. Let the 4 teams that fail to make the playoff in D-league each year go back to Div I-A, and the final four of the NIT bump up to D-league the following year. If this had been done 10 years ago, we might have avoided some of the unnecessary 'realignment' nonsense. |
