1) You need a good grow light whether fluorescent or LED, otherwise they grow spindly. 2) The seeds are tiny as you know. They must have light to germinate properly. You want pots with rich organic matter so a good quality potting soil. I like to use these plastic trays and then the peat moss type Jiffy pots. This way you can transplant them with the Jiffy pot and you don’t risk damaging the plant. You simply fill the plastic trays with the degradable pots, add potting soil, then sprinkle maybe 1/2 dozen seeds right on top of the soil. I use a stray bottle to gently moisten the surface of the soil daily a couple of times to keep the surface moist at all times. You can’t let it dry out or the seeds will not germinate! No extra fertilizer yet but I would use potting soil that already has some fertilizer in it. These are seeds from plants I grew last summer from his original seeds he mailed me!   I can answer any questions you have! |
