I’m 51 years old. I work out 5 days a week mostly running and cycling with some weight and core work on the stability ball. I ran my 26th half marathon in October. I was just wondering if this supplements legit and would it benefit me to try it.

Is this the same Weider company that was out in the 80’s and 90’s? I didn’t think they were around anymore.

Doubtful - I'd think the best way to raise T would to cut back on the cardio and get at least 30% of your calories from saturated fat.

Throw away your stability ball. Run less but don't quit running. Squat and deadlift lift heavy 2 or 3 times per week. Eat a lot of meat. Your test will go up.

"A study showed... "

A lot of the claimed test-increasing supplements weren't even tested on humans.

A study did show Ashwaganda increased T in men being screened for infertility, so there's at least that.. I didn't read it so idk how much (probably minimal) and is what's in your jar actually what was used in the study?: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19501822/

Result(s): Withania somnifera inhibited lipid peroxidation and protein carbonyl content and improved sperm count and motility. Treatment of infertile men recovered the seminal plasma levels of antioxidant enzymes and vitamins A, C, and E and corrected fructose. Moreover, treatment also significantly increased serum T and LH and reduced the levels of FSH and PRL.

Conclusion(s): The treatment with W. somnifera effectively reduced oxidative stress, as assessed by decreased levels of various oxidants and improved level of diverse antioxidants. Moreover, the levels of T, LH, FSH and PRL, good indicators of semen quality, were also reversed in infertile subjects after treatment with the herbal preparation.

Another one giving some actual numbers: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26609282/

Results: Compared to the placebo subjects, the group treated with ashwagandha had significantly greater increases in muscle strength on the bench-press exercise (Placebo: 26.4 kg, 95% CI, 19.5, 33.3 vs. Ashwagandha: 46.0 kg, 95% CI 36.6, 55.5; p = 0.001) and the leg-extension exercise (Placebo: 9.8 kg, 95% CI, 7.2,12.3 vs. Ashwagandha: 14.5 kg, 95 % CI, 10.8,18.2; p = 0.04), and significantly greater muscle size increase at the arms (Placebo: 5.3 cm(2), 95% CI, 3.3,7.2 vs. Ashwagandha: 8.6 cm(2), 95% CI, 6.9,10.8; p = 0.01) and chest (Placebo: 1.4 cm, 95% CI, 0.8, 2.0 vs. Ashwagandha: 3.3 cm, 95% CI, 2.6, 4.1; p < 0.001). Compared to the placebo subjects, the subjects receiving ashwagandha also had significantly greater reduction of exercise-induced muscle damage as indicated by the stabilization of serum creatine kinase (Placebo: 1307.5 U/L, 95% CI, 1202.8, 1412.1, vs. Ashwagandha: 1462.6 U/L, 95% CI, 1366.2, 1559.1; p = 0.03), significantly greater increase in testosterone level (Placebo: 18.0 ng/dL, 95% CI, -15.8, 51.8 vs. Ashwagandha: 96.2 ng/dL, 95% CI, 54.7, 137.5; p = 0.004), and a significantly greater decrease in body fat percentage (Placebo: 1.5%, 95% CI, 0.4%, 2.6% vs. Ashwagandha: 3.5%, 95% CI, 2.0%, 4.9%; p = 0.03).

Conclusion: This study reports that ashwagandha supplementation is associated with significant increases in muscle mass and strength and suggests that ashwagandha supplementation may be useful in conjunction with a resistance training program.

I don't think I have low testosterone is low. My libido is still still good. I am not looking to bulk up. I like being a runner, I was looking to see if it would boost my speed and endurance.

Get bloodwork done before changing anything.

I've tracked mine for years, it's been as low as 250 and as high as 700. My bloodwork last week was just under 500.

It changes seasonally, with general health (at 250 I was sick as a dog with the flu or something), and with how much sleep I'm getting. It's higher in the summer when I'm outside more and sleeping better, and generally lower in the winter.
If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it.

Without doing blood work to determine what you are deficit in. Its impossible to say if something will have any effectiveness at all. If you want to cover all your basis a good multi vitamin (I used Fairhaven Health FH Pro fertility multivitamin) can be useful. Along with Vitamin D3/K2.

Research shows the most powerful/effective thing you can do to improve hormone function and testosterone. Is sleeping 8-9 hours a night on a consistent sleep schedule.

I really wish it were as simple as taking some herbs/vitamins. But its not. You either fix your sleep or you inject testosterone.

No, it's just vitamins.

If you want to support your testosterone, sleep well, eat well, and exercise.  If you want to support it further, get on TRT.
It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child.

I took that stuff, I don't think it did anything.

Get real blood tests from a doc and go from there.

Unless he's running a half marathon every week he's probably not running to much.
