Then, when we arrived back at the restaurant (from our room) for dinner, her car had been moved, and replaced with a bright green Murceilago (or some model like that).

@MadMonkey divkat9 gave good advice on the Boxster/Cayman. I have seen complete automotive novices disassemble and reassemble either so fixes are fairly simple in most cases. Spend a couple of weeks in the applicable Rennlist forums and you will have answers to any questions you may have. If you shop Boxsters, occasionally you will find one with a hardtop included in the sale. It's one more thing to store in the garage if you never use it but it could be handy if you ever have soft top troubles and want to dump the soft top all together. |

They offered me about $12-15k in concessions on a car on their lot, but didn't have anything I wanted. Today, the GM found out I was looking at a 570 at another dealer and offered to buy it, ship it to his dealership, check it over and service it, let me add extra factory warranty if I want at his cost, then ship it to my house - all for the same price I was going to pay the other dealer.  ETA - I was pissed, then sad, then upset when I tried to make another deal elsewhere through my Porsche dealer that fell through, then just resigned to moving on to the next fun thing. |
