At the risk of getting flamed for owning a Panamera, I have to say after a 2800 mile road trip from NC to Houston and back for my wife's cancer surgery, I'm more convinced than ever that it is the ultimate road trip machine! Comfortable, great range, good mileage at speed, plenty fast to get around traffic. Attached File |

I hope it does well. Looking at past auctions for similar 911s, I am actually pretty optimistic. Mine should be pretty attractive (assuming someone wants a bright yellow car), because I'm the original owner, it's always been garaged, never driven in snow and ice, low miles, everything original with no modifications or tuning, all the maintenance records, no accidents or paint damage ... and driven by an old fuddy-duddy university professor who would only occasionally floor it ... so all of those things should really help. I saw 911s selling on BaT that had three or four owners, small accidents, etc. ... and STILL got pretty good prices. I'm very jealous that you owned a 928S. That's always been my favorite Porsche, and probably why I liked the Panamera so much. I still wish Porsche would build a two-door Panamera, essentially bringing back the 928. |

It was fun after the fact when I knew I didn’t die. |
Mine in about a week and a half. 2003 Carrera, 75,xxx miles, well sorted with excellent records, IMS done, cooling system done with thermostat and coolant tank, diff service, transmission service, brake service, new tires and wheels and a new battery all done in the last couple of years. I’m going to fly out to the west coast and drive it home.

The lowest mileage, best condition, best optioned, rarest color, unicorn is almost impossible to over pay for. The other end is go for the cheapest car that meets whatever minimum criteria you have, you have a ton of value baked in and it’s actually a lot less risky than buying what you think is a “good” car that turns out to be a turd. The fear of the unknown is what makes that trip exciting. Couple hundred bucks in cash, credit card, and cell phone will solve most any problem you may run into. Having that time to get to know the car and see some cool sights and new roads is priceless. |

You can see the "new" plan in the background of this photo. Toyota Land Cruiser. We wanted something for serious off-roading, and we're going to get a beater truck (like an old Taco or Tundra) to haul around wet scuba gear, kayaks, photo equipment, etc.  While there are awesome roads snaking up and down some of the volcanoes, they always have either slow locals or slow tourist on them, so owning a car like that seems to serve little purpose other than showing off. Plus, we're moving into our twilight years, so a truck is much easier to get in and out of. Also, once I arrive in Hawaii, the entire reason for owning the 911 in the first place will have disappeared, and so I really don't need it. Selling it is a happy occasion for me, not a sad one. ... plus, it will help pay for the pool (or at least the infinity edge and the spa) for the insanely expensive (for us) house we are planning to build!  ETA:
