Got this guy a month or so back. My other watches have been sitting jealously for a while ever since..... Id call this piece more of a reinterpretation of the "Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Y.1545" from iirc the 60's/70's that Squale manufactured the case of/for on that specific reference. As opposed to your plain ole' every day "sub clone/homage". |

Citizen Promaster Dive Eco-Drive. These are a good deal in an ISO certified Diver's watch. $238 on Amazon. It comes with a blue rubber strap which looks nice, but Island Watch makes a nice stainless oyster style bracelet for these (BRAC-35), so I picked one up for it.

I just impulse bought this minutes after learning of it's existence. It's a French micro brand that uses Japanese automatic movements, sapphire crystal, 100m water resistance. $620. The style may not be for everyone, but I've never seen a watch that was so tailor made to my taste. Can't wait for it show up Attached File Attached File |

Will post when it arrives. It's a heck of a watch. Mine connects daily pretty reliably to the transmitter at Fort Collins. Time is bang-on every time I check it. It does take a bit of time to set up, but it's pretty much a one and done thing. There's good YT videos on how to do that, just make sure you get the video for the movement yours has. (E650, E660 etc). |

Long Island Watch just released a Spinnaker/Islander GMT colab, it's basically an homage to the Sinn 857 UTC. Its movement is a TMI NH34 Automatic GMT (Seiko). The non GMT models have a Miyota movement. They did a really nice job with these. They have 4 models, 2 GMTs ($425), and 2 non-GMTs ($375), with both black and white dials. Mine arrived this week.

I posted my Maratac SR-35 in the watch of the day thread, but it qualifies as inexpensive too. I paid $250 for it and it's practically brand new. I'm considering putting it away and giving it to my son for his high school graduation this spring.

I dressed it down a bit, with a NATO strap off my Seiko 5 Field watch, I think it gives it a more sporty, outdoors look.
