I suppose these have mostly become a niche type of guitar that people tend to grow out of or not take seriously but I think they’re fun to play and having fun is what playing guitar is all about in my opinion.

The smaller V style definitely has its pros and cons. The body is light, so when you play it, the guitar neck tends to tip down if you aren't hording it. And its awkward to play while sitting down with the guitar on your leg. On the plus side, it gives you pretty easy access to all the high frets.
My warlock behaves more like most other guitars. It balances the same and its comfortable to play sitting down. Whatever combination of electronics they put in mine, its definitely got its own sound. Its a fatter, ballsier tone, with muffled highs. I didn't really like it for playing lead parts. When you play rhythm stuff, its like you have a whole army playing with you. Idiocracy - Guitar Army |

I'll be back to post up some Robin guitars. I worked at a dealership and some were absolutely wild.

How do you like that Wylde Audio? I really like mine a lot. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but SA was practically giving it away and I don't have anything with active pups. Sounds killer and it plays really nice and is very comfortable. Glad I got it. Unfortunately FedEx damaged the back in shipping. |

Yes
I am a fan of the vintage B.C. Rich and a few other, often used in metal pointy guitars. |

You could tell the Randy Rhoads fans because they played a V. Later on he good job after college, and IIRC he bought an Ibanez Jem model. |

One of the last to roll out before his death was an 8 string flame maple Bich. I tried desperately but at the time I just couldn't beg, borrow, or steal enough to land it. I hope the fucker that did loves it half as much as I would have. |

I've tossed around the idea of buying something a little bit lighter to practice on, or even a guitar to try and teach myself some tablature or something on a "real" guitar. View Quote Nice, had an Ibanez Destroyer x series that looked like that. ETA Not my pic but could be. Also had a custom shop BC Rich iron bird identical to the one Geezer Butler played at Live Aid. Horrible axe, traded it for a brand new Rickenbacker 4003. |

View Quote Man the Blitz was a great bass! I nearly got a Gibby Explorer as my first bass, always loved that shape. One little awesome detail on the Blitz is they used the Schaller roller bridge, which is one of the best bridges there is. Great bass dude, don't sell it! |
