Marshall has announced an extremely limited batch of special edition Spinal Tap amp heads that, just like the amps seen in the band’s recent sequel, go to Infinity. Well, sort of. Marshall has dubbed this “the loudest amp ever made”, though while that may not be strictly true in terms of output – this is a dressed up 100W JVM410H wearing appropriate Spinal Tap attire – it’s certainly loud in spirit. It brings a 40-year collaboration in the making full circle. There isn't a single thing in the sequel's trailer that is funny. I won't see it. I also noticed in a recent trailer for the re-mastered original that they woke edited some dialogue, i.e. changed the word "retarded" when it wasn't even used in a way that was offensive to snowflakes. You can watch "A mighty wind" too if you really want to waste time. Tell me you haven't been involved in the industry without telling me you haven't been involved in the industry. The first movie is perfect. The new one was 'memberberry trash. They failed to capture the perfect in-jokes like the first, and instead of it being a lampooning of old rockers going back on tour (which is so common right now that the concept was ripe for ridicule) it was a string of "hey here is another callback to a joke we made forty years ago" nonsense. I don't care for the other Christopher Guest movies excepting Princess Bride which is a fucking masterpiece. |
