The soldiers creed is gay and always has been
It was created by a focus group in 2003. The problem with the Army is it is always reinventing itself. The USMC actually has history and self respect and honors its traditions. |

I am a combat deployed 11B. I went to RASP and served in the 101st. I don't even tell me people I served in the military, much less the Army. I am straight embarrassed of what it has become. It's a giant social experiment. I served out of respect for the men who went before me and died in the great wars. Not for this modern Army. it's terrible.

Well it wasn’t utterly terrible but I didn’t see anything in that commercial that would inspire a young man to want to join, like an Abrams firing from a BP, or observing an Apache through NVGs firing rockets at night, or a Bn or more of airborne conducting DZ ops from C-17s.
No FA humping rounds, no ODAs kicking in doors, no machine gunners firing tracers or patriot crews tracking targets on radar. Just some gal in the barracks missing home, people in the field, and a platoon sized element standing in some sort of formation reciting Army values in a hanger. Yay. Not sure what the communal horse trough in the field was all about either. Surely we can provide pottable water that appeals more to people that didn’t grow up in the third world. |
