https://bnonews.com/index.php/2023/03/tiger-escapes-georgia-zoo-after-tornado/

At least one tiger has escaped from its enclosure at a zoo in Pine Mountain, Georgia after a tornado hit the area, officials say. It’s unclear if the animal is still inside the park.

A tornado touched down in Troup County at around 7 a.m. on Sunday, downing trees and damaging a number of buildings.

A short time later, Wild Animal Safari reported that at least one of its tigers was unaccounted for. There were conflicting reports on whether a second tiger had also escaped.

In a Facebook post, the zoo said it will remain closed today.

It’s unclear if the animal is still inside the zoo. Anyone who sees the animal is urged to call 911.

I mean it's funny but it's not.  I gotta text some friends that stay up that way.

I'm about an hour north and was actually thinking about going to Callaway Gardens today but its still storming pretty bad down that way.  There was a tiger on the loose a few years ago around Peachtree City that was dispatched by the police. That "zoo" is a horrible place, I hope the tiger escapes to Alabama and lives free. Auburn could adopt it.

Tons of lightning and some hail here.  The tornado passed about ten miles south of me.  Hope the KIA plant wasn’t hit.  LP would be very upset.

find a large cardboard box, like the one a fridge comes in. set it out on your property. set up a hunting blind in a tree with a clear line of sight to the box.  Enjoy your new tiger rug.

I'm OK with the wolves and the black bear in my yard but draw the line at tigers.

No tigers unless they have an 88 mm cannon and a V-12 Maybach engine.

Turkey season starts at the end of this week…..

I mean it’s an invasive species right, not native to Georgia?

Would be a great bow kill.

Some Bengal tigers were loose in Ohio, I believe, a few years back.   Cops shot 'em all.  No attempt at all to try to dart & save them.

I've stood next to a big tiger with nothing but a chain link fence between us.  They are big.  I was thinking, "What would it take to kill this beast?"

However, they aren't wide through the chest.  About the same width as a large buck deer.  And the skin is thin.

A .30-06 with proper bullet would dispatch a tiger easily, with power left over.

Tornado this morning just missed us.  Folks just beyond the back side of our property were not so lucky.  Lots of roofs missing just behind our place.  Lots of timber is down--snapped off.   Went around checking on neighbors and cutting drives open from downed trees.  We were out of power for about six hours.  It just came back on.   And the tigers added a little spice to the whole equation.  I put the little 9mm back in the gun safe and broke out the 1911 with 230grn gold dots.

good times.  No one died here this morning.  Can't say the same about Miss :-(

My last full bear mount for a 387 pounder was $3,200. Makes me wonder what a full mount tiger would cost.
