Anyone mount and balance your own tires and wheels at home? I about to the point I'm willing to dedicate shop space for a tire machine and balancer. Anyone have a recommendation on what to buy / avoid?

Standard tires & wheels maybe up to 1 ton size truck, but mostly passenger vehicle stuff.

I bought the Mayflower base models. They work. No bead blaster, but most of the time, I don't need it. If I am mounting a tire that is being difficult, I have one of those portable bead blaster tanks that works. I've mounted 33" tires on 20" wheels, and 205/50R17 tires. The BFG tires are tough (275/55/20) because of the stiff sidewalls. Typical passenger tires are a breeze.

Check with your local garage equipment salesperson/company.
I have a friend that sells that stuff, and the deals you can get on used equipment are huge.
If you're not using it every day, then used is fine.
I decided to keep using my Harbor Freight tire machine and take them to get balanced.
I thought about getting the used ones, but that would have been overkill.
