I’d love to have a titanium Yacht-Master but they seem to be unobtanium for the foreseeable future. To hold me over until I get one I’m looking for something else in a titanium automatic with a bracelet and date complication. I’d like to keep it 38-42mm with 40mm being ideal.

Any suggestions?

Tudor Pelagos 42 has a date complication and the case and bracelet are both made of titanium, if you want something cheaper as a place holder certina has the ds action diver in titanium at 38mm with date complication.

Squale has their Master Titanium 1200m diver and is grade 5 titanium...way more durable than what I believe Tudor uses (grade 2).  My Pelagos 39 scratched like crazy.

I'm really wanting the P39.  Thin and super light weight Ti.

Honestly, I see so many Pelagos 39s, I completely forgot the 42 has a date!

My only beef with the 42 is it's so damn thick.  I really didn't enjoy wearing it and sold it.   I finally learned to just stop buying any watches 14mm or thicker because I always end up hating them.

This one may come in under budget.  Blue or black.

If you go titanium and want to remove the scratches that happen yourself buy some of these.

The Certina DS Action Diver Titanium 38 is considered by many to be the best buy in a titanium diver there is. I’ve handled one and the quality was excellent.  The only thing that keeps it from being a Pelagos killer is the lack of a quick adjust clasp.

ETA, it’s currently on Amazon Prime for $826

The Omega World Timer has a black and Ti model, I’m in love with it. The strap/clasp is almost perfect, not a metal bracelet but adds to the light weightness of it.

Timex has some new very inexpensive titanium offerings.  I think they have miyota movements.  I know you said auto, but I really like the Breitling Aeroapace, and the Tag Heuer Solargraph Titanium.

Grand Seiko SBGA413.

Since you're on the hunt for a tool watch, don't buy a tool watch as a place-holder.  It'll just get put aside when you get your YM.

Get something more dressy so you can keep both in rotation.

Look at these offerings from GS.  All may not be titanium, but the SGBA413 definitely is.

I own the Pelagos 39 already and it’s an amazing watch.  But I just ordered the titanium Timex Reef 200. It will be my beater watch for fishing mainly since I always fear losing a nice watch off the boat.

It’s a neat looking diver thst meets a lot of your wants.

18 months of Pelagos 42 checking in. Nice watch, runs ~1 second a day or less, great lume, and despite the size it's very comfy to wear all day. I don't know that I'd ever consider a watch WITHOUT a quick adjust clasp ever again.

Another option to consider is Zelos.  I own this one Here and it’s a great watch. The black raised bezel is super nice. For the price it’s a great watch that gets worn a lot compared to my much more expensive watches. Obviously it’s sold out so you would have to find it second hand, but it’s well worth it. The clasp and bracelet are second to none.

While the Pelagos 39 is the “ultimate” titanium diver, the new Times diver is pretty dang nice and impressive for under $400.

Why oh why must you continue to taunt me so?

99.99987% of the time my response to titanium divers is to say- “hit the gym loser if an ounce or two is too much for you to handle vs SS.”

But that model….
