It's gonna be a shitty day tomorrow. There's some solace knowing some will get 22 weeks severance + 6 months of medical benefit Still gonna sucks balls making the calls. The shit show starts at 8am  |

The last company I worked for, I was right next to the the C suite or whatever they are called for a medium sized manufacturing company. I remember they would be talking about how they did not meet their production and sales numbers for the week, so somebody had the bright idea to hire and fire based on weekly numbers. I felt bad for the guy who had to fire the people based on just one weeks numbers. Then when numbers really started to turn solid good, the company could not figure out why nobody wanted to work for them. The good news is the board removed the guy who came up with that idea... it was the president. The president had axed me too, as he could not understand why a manufacturing and product company needed engineering and product development.. I kid you not. |

Been there During Covid, I laid off 33 people in a day, like an assembly line. “Hey Bill, come into my office. I’ve got some bad news for you…….” Then “NEXT. Hey Tom, step into my office, I’ve got some bad news for you……..” It was brutal, absolutely brutal. Last year I had to lay off my personal secretary, and that was absolutely heart breaking.
