I bought someone's old, lightly neglected, tool box gun recently.  A 4" S&W 586 (no dash).

Pretty obvious this gun was set in the drawer of a tool box on it's left side,  - and said drawer was then opened and closed about a million times.

Rear sight is replaceable.  The front, fortunately, was in really good shape.

The most challenging part:

Looks like the previous owner set on top of a file or something:

I have a newer production no-lock 442 in mine. It rusts if you look at it wrong.

Did a thing today: https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/245222/C7226FCE-D58F-4729-8FCE-DE46134B004B_jpe-2142510.JPG

Found a used G19.4 and put an ARC comp and an extra threaded barrel on.  Along with an agency mag well.  Plus a 30 rounder just in case.

Forgive the fact that my box is in the middle of my garage, I’m putting pegboard up on that wall right now.

You need more tools.

Nice gun though

I see the water heater and furnace so I assume the garage is attached to the house. Drywall. at least on the adjoining wall, is required by building/fire code. Pegboard over the drywall would be OK.

Just busting your balls.  I had the same box in grey. (KRL1033?) My current one is just a different drawer config.  I kept getting irritated at the number of skinny drawers.   None of my tools would fit height wise.  They were good for storing paper.

Old box Circa 2013

New(er) Box, I think I got this 2016 or 17.

Yup KRL 1033  bought it off Facebook marketplace for $3k. I’m extremely happy with it.  It’s a great box.

This will be on a non-adjoining wall.  Good call though

Still dangerous if they ever had gas in them. Liquid gas will burn. Vapor will blow. Ask me how I know.........

A Glock 20 or 40 would be appropriate toolbox guns.

Not a toolbox gun as such but "I know a guy" that, years ago, worked with some hotheads and felt the need for some "job security" so it was a lunchbox gun.
