My wife, whom hates subtitles loved these three movies!!

If you haven't seen the six part extended version it's even better than the original release of the three movies.

Pretty good, IMO.

The remake wasn't bad wither.

Wish they would have gotten a different actress for the lead though.

I've seen the 3 films, need to go back and watch the 6 part series.

The 6 part has a lot of stuff that the 3 films left out, worth watching.

The Frankenstein Theory

I know the description might sound a little silly but this was actually pretty good as far as "creature features" go.  Not a whole lot of action/gore, but good build up/suspense.  Not low budget at all.  More of an indie film vs. low budget.  Good flick for a sick day or weekend movie.

Hypothermia

The reviews suggested I skip this one, but being a fan of Michael Rooker, I had to see it.  Yup, pretty bad, just posting so to save GD from the waste of 75 minutes.  It's just plain bad.

saw Dawn Rider  last night with Christian Slater and Jill Hennessy.

I'd only recommend it if you are a Western movie, Christian Slater or Jill Hennessy fan looking for a time kill movie.

Didn't see it mentioned yet ...maximum political intrigue, corruption, scandal & murder. You could hang all the fuckers from lamp posts and know you'd done a good deed. They're all dirty, vile and despicable. Especially the British aristocrats!

House Of Cards with Kevin Spacey is a Netflix special set in D.C.  Season 1 just finished.

There are 2 versions; the original BBC trilogy and the new one with Kevin Spacey. Both are well done.

watched Safety Not Guaranteed , Butter, and part of Deadfall over the weekend.

Safety was alright. Not as good as this thread was making me think it was going to be.
Butter was horrible but that was easy to dismiss due to Olivia Wilde's hottness. Damn that butter carving scene!
Deadfall seemed like it was setting up to be a good movie but something came up and I had to abort. Will finish it soon.

First off, Robot Chicken is on Netflix now! Fuck yeah.

Whore's Glory - good documentary that unflinchingly examines prostitutes in Thailand, Bangladesh & Mexico.

Unknown - a group of men wake up in a warehouse, all suffering from memory loss and have to figure out who's who to avoid execution. Entertaining flick.

The Scapegoat - a schoolteacher meets his doppelganger, who hires him to take his place as the head of a wealthy family. Cool movie.

New original series that looks promising.
Hemlock Grove

         Beginning April 19

The Monster Is Within

In the shadows of a rusted Pennsylvania
steel town, the mangled body of a teenage girl is discovered. As they
hunt for a monster among them, rumors mount and many of the eccentric
residents become suspects, from the newly arrived gypsy family to the
wealthy Godfrey clan. In the twisted world of Hemlock Grove, everyone
hides a dark secret. From director Eli Roth ("Hostel”) comes a chilling
supernatural series based on Brian McGreevy’s novel.

Spoiler Alert:  Hemlock Grove Werewolf Transformation

Another +1 for Limitless, that was great.

I was disappointed in season 3 of the BBC House Of Cards.  They took a lot of time out to deliver a political hit job on Thatcher, making Francis' Conservative government openly scornful of the poor interspersed with sympathetic shots of the homeless, and then FU's war against a new king who happens to be a total liberal/socialist wet dream.  Classic ending, though.

Very unsubtle in it's anti-Catholicism, but the fight scenes made up for it.
