It's almost to the point where you don't want to eat because you feel so good but ultimately you do because we need the nutrition. My sweet spot is around the 90hr fast when I feel the best.

I will go for an evening walk and I can smell people cooking in their homes or on a grill and can tell what they are having for dinner but little no desire to eat. Our bodies are capable of some really crazy primal shit when we are fueling ourselves properly.

I’ve done a couple of 72s in the past and I agree with your timeline. I could have easily gone past 72 hours but I wanted to stick with the original plan and not wing it.

I have two Beltman belts, one black and one tan I wear for plainclothes LE work.  They both fit a little different.  Before the black one I was using the second hole and struggling a little and the tan i was using the first and struggling a little with the second.  I have no hips or ass and need to keep them cinched to hold my duty gear up.

Today with the tan one I put it wear it felt cinched and was on the fourth hole but was just a tad tight and the black is firmly on the fourth hole.  When I weighed yesterday I was down 17 lbs.  This Wednesday will make three weeks.

Figuring out steak in the air fryer was a game changer.

If I actually meal prepped, I proly would've stayed on it longer. I just got fed up cooking, eating, cleaning, cooking, eating, cleaning.

Makes perfect sense. To a dummy like me, so good job!  And thank you!

Marathon is in may. So I’m pushing it. I have an old lady with a bun in the oven that’s due June. So might try to be more efficient with the carnivore diet after marathon training.

That is if I can get over my calf/shin/knee pain :(

I'm fairly confident you can achieve a good level of endurance if you start now and should perform will in May. I'm also quite confident if you follow a strict carnivore diet of mostly if not all ruminent animal meat and eggs you will make great strides in your calf/shin/knee pain.

As for as the lady there is a lot of evidence a carnivore based diet will do wonders for the development of the child I the womb. I understand this could be a touchy subject but just make sure she gets plenty of ruminant animal meat and eggs if she isn't willing to give up processed foods altogether.

If you want to build muscle and don't need to lose any fat, carnivore wouldn't even be in the running of top 100 diets if that many even exist.

Your body won't have as much stored glucose for athletic activity, and insulin is anabolic.  Can you build muscle on it?  Sure.  But you're handicapping yourself.  It's like saying you don't want to build too much muscle and look too jacked, so you're just gonna train real hard but handicap yourself.

It's good to want to be healthy and I hope you reach your goals, but start by accepting personal responsibility.

Next time you are "starving", go drink some water.

Say it with me: "I'm over weight because I over ate"

In a few months I hope you can say "I took personal responsibility, ate right, and got healthy"

So much processed food contains so much sugar, that it shouldn't be a surprise that so many Americans are overweight.
It's addictive.  There's another item somehow related to Lactose that is also addictive.. Lactase, maybe?

There are more than a few food additives that were "accidentally" modified to keep people coming back I'm sure.. There's money in unhealthy (the food and treating the conditions it causes).

But, it seems *everyone* these days wants to go to some fad diet or program.  "After 20 years of eating an entire birthday cake every day, this fad diet helped me lose 120 lbs!!!" No, not eating the birthday cake every day is what did it.

At least OP is half way trying.. These days, people just take one of the re-branded diabetes meds (ozempic, etc.,) and watch the lbs vanish.  Lawsuits from that stuff in 10-20 years will be fun to watch.

small update for me. I have been on a strict carnivore for 3 days now. only thing thats questionable is black coffee.

I FEEL GREAT! I've already lost 5 pounds. Way more energy!cooked up a pound of bacon and 4 pork chops while I ate 6 eggs this morning, cooking for lunch and dinner while I am at work tonight (rotating 12 hour shifts). Now I am hard boiling some more eggs.

I am freakin loving this. Thanks to everyone for giving me the motivation to do this!

Glad it's working for ya.... Black coffee is fine it is a diuretic however. If you have loose stool for more than a few weeks coffee may be your culprit.

Stick with it, it may get a bit monotonous but after a few months you will forget about it and just see food for what it is a fuel source.

I will also give you a recipe.  Costco has pork tenderloin for like $3 a pound. Take a package and thaw it. Cut it into 2 inch cubes and put all of it an instant pot. Barely cover the meat with water and add about 3 tablespoons of smoked sea salt. Cook on meat stew (high pressure) for 58 minutes. The meat falls apart and is amazing. This also works with chuck roast and London broil, which are usually pretty tough cuts. In the instapot, the meat falls apart. It is divine.

Started carnivore Monday. Have been doing keto off and on before and this is just like a slightly more aggressive version. I’m doing only meat and some cheese and OMAD but not limiting how much I eat if I feel hungry.

Yesterday was 2 burgers, 2 slices of meatloaf and some pepperoni but now idk if I’ll even be hungry for anything today.

When will I stop shitting???!!!!

At the risk of being gross, it’s been hell since Monday. I’m not convinced I’m not sick, my son has a stomach bug. But I’m also not convinced it’s not carnivore.

It’s been extremely urgent, unpleasant, and very fluid. Even Imodium didn’t help yet (started today). I’m hydrated but this is terrible.

I am down 6 pounds in 4 days so I imagine that’s not helping.

Definitely should be in the clear after 10-14 days... Depending on your previous diet you gut biome will need to adjust to the new way of eating and you body will start to ramp up bile to adjust to the increased fat intake.

You can try and reduce fat intake in the short term if it is becoming an issue. Our bodies are designed to eat animal meats in proportion. We often cook with rendered fat and this can overload the system in beginning hitting the gut with rendered pure fat rather than chewed fat like you were eating a steak.

I promise it will go away and you will be shitting once a day or every other day a nice small turd. :)

The last 3 days for me was 250 cal/day (Breakfast only, 3 eggs with a dab of bacon fat).  Today was 395 which was 3 eggs for breakfast and a grilled chicken breast for supper.  The nice thing about carnivore is that I don't feel hungry and don't desire between meal snacks.

So everyone who's doing carnivore, Keep It Up.  It works.

I use to be a once a day pooper. Now its once every other day, sometimes 2 days in between. Additionally, I've discovered everytime afterwards I coulda just took off without needing to wipe. AT ALL. Im not a savage so I'll never forgo that maintenance ritual, but its interesting.

The amount is also WAY lower. Ridiculously lower.

What exactly are you eating?

I am no expert but I have found that if I stray from eating simple meat, (Steak, burger, roast, fish, BAKED chicken) that I can't tolerate it as well.  Any addition of veggies or battered food like fried chicken and it is a crap shoot as to whether I will get dumping syndrome.

One thing I have noticed is that food doesn't mean as much to me.

I know that sounds weird, but I just don't really care.

Also, skipping a meal is no big deal.

With my work schedule the past two weeks, I have been working through lunch.  It's no big deal.

I don't eat breakfast, usually eat lunch, so if I skip lunch, I don't eat till dinner.

Yesterday was my 5th 24 hour fast.

I'm not trying NOT to eat, it's just that I don't really care if I do or don't.

Was baked chicken breast for dinner yesterday (kids prefer it) so I melted a little Kerry gold and added lemon pepper seasoning (mostly salt). Fattened it right up.

Plus, I love eating meat.  So it's not really a change.

And the money I am saving by not buying shit at the gas station, or eating out for lunch or breakfast is adding up.

The only downside is going out to eat with the family.  But that is manageable.

I have three rib racks on the smoker, for supper tonight, so we will see how they turn out.

My bro in law the butcher says he has a shit ton of them and the price is really good, so I may stock up.

I need to eat more wild game and empty the freezers out...

I use to think it was batshit crazy, too. I did carnivor for 6 weeks and the biggest issue I had towards the end, was that I was so fucking tired of chewing meat. It wasn't the taste, it wasn't the thought of the meat, it was just the chewing of the same consistency all the time. I started making scrambled eggs with every meal just to have a bite of something with a different consistency.

I wasn't very smart about the diet, and didn't dive into carnivor recipes or anything. I just made a bunch of steaks, chicken breasts, and eggs.

The health benefits were incredible, though.

I think I know the answer based on previous posts / responses, but is anyone on this type of diet using fiber supplements?

Starkist Selects Yellowfin tuna in Olive oil.

It's tasty and conveniently packaged. As an added benefit, it can keep in your desk drawer for a LONG time.

I’m a week in and the belly stuff resolved. I think i was sick, probably helped the initial weight loss. Down like 7 pounds in a week I believe.

I had a single tater tot and a small piece of bread yesterday. I know that’s not allowed but it happens. Interesting thing seems to me that if you mess up carnivore you’re still keto/low carb anyway.

That said I’m having pizza on valentine day. It’s a tradition. What should I do to prep for those carbs besides not eat at all between now and then?
