small update for me. I have been on a strict carnivore for 3 days now. only thing thats questionable is black coffee.
I FEEL GREAT! I've already lost 5 pounds. Way more energy!cooked up a pound of bacon and 4 pork chops while I ate 6 eggs this morning, cooking for lunch and dinner while I am at work tonight (rotating 12 hour shifts). Now I am hard boiling some more eggs. I am freakin loving this. Thanks to everyone for giving me the motivation to do this! |

Black coffee is fine it is a diuretic however. If you have loose stool for more than a few weeks coffee may be your culprit. I started carnivore on July 26, 2023 at 256. I am at 194 now. Off blood pressure meds. Quit snoring. Overall I find the diet boring, but there is no arguing with the results. My blood sugar is almost constantly 80. I don’t eat any sugar or carbs or vegetables. No issues.
I will also give you a recipe. Costco has pork tenderloin for like $3 a pound. Take a package and thaw it. Cut it into 2 inch cubes and put all of it an instant pot. Barely cover the meat with water and add about 3 tablespoons of smoked sea salt. Cook on meat stew (high pressure) for 58 minutes. The meat falls apart and is amazing. This also works with chuck roast and London broil, which are usually pretty tough cuts. In the instapot, the meat falls apart. It is divine. |

Started carnivore Monday. Have been doing keto off and on before and this is just like a slightly more aggressive version. I’m doing only meat and some cheese and OMAD but not limiting how much I eat if I feel hungry.
Yesterday was 2 burgers, 2 slices of meatloaf and some pepperoni but now idk if I’ll even be hungry for anything today. |

When will I stop shitting???!!!!
At the risk of being gross, it’s been hell since Monday. I’m not convinced I’m not sick, my son has a stomach bug. But I’m also not convinced it’s not carnivore. It’s been extremely urgent, unpleasant, and very fluid. Even Imodium didn’t help yet (started today). I’m hydrated but this is terrible. I am down 6 pounds in 4 days so I imagine that’s not helping. |

Depending on your previous diet you gut biome will need to adjust to the new way of eating and you body will start to ramp up bile to adjust to the increased fat intake. You can try and reduce fat intake in the short term if it is becoming an issue. Our bodies are designed to eat animal meats in proportion. We often cook with rendered fat and this can overload the system in beginning hitting the gut with rendered pure fat rather than chewed fat like you were eating a steak. I promise it will go away and you will be shitting once a day or every other day a nice small turd. :) |

This is day 29 for me and when I stepped on the scale this morning I was down exactly 30 lbs. Still have 27 lbs to go to reach my goal weight, then maintain after that. Now I'm carnivore and keeping calories low with lots of exercise. When I reach my goal weight I just need to find out how may calories I need per day to maintain. Everybody's different, I think for me it going to be around 1000.

One thing I have noticed is that food doesn't mean as much to me.
I know that sounds weird, but I just don't really care. Also, skipping a meal is no big deal. With my work schedule the past two weeks, I have been working through lunch. It's no big deal. I don't eat breakfast, usually eat lunch, so if I skip lunch, I don't eat till dinner. Yesterday was my 5th 24 hour fast. I'm not trying NOT to eat, it's just that I don't really care if I do or don't. |

I’m a week in and the belly stuff resolved. I think i was sick, probably helped the initial weight loss. Down like 7 pounds in a week I believe.
I had a single tater tot and a small piece of bread yesterday. I know that’s not allowed but it happens. Interesting thing seems to me that if you mess up carnivore you’re still keto/low carb anyway. That said I’m having pizza on valentine day. It’s a tradition. What should I do to prep for those carbs besides not eat at all between now and then? |
