Filled everything up. Not that I think we are going to run out of fas per say. However the toilet paper retards and unprepared will have gas $6 a gallon by Tuesday. Least I can make it a couple of weeks now, when it comes back to our new normal of 3.25
Then we get hurricanes again and we will likely be lucky to round his year out at $4. |

I figured charging would add 8-10 hours to the drive one way If they could get the charge time to 10-15 minutes then I would consider one |

Quoted: We've already had "exemptions" for hazmat essential truckers not too long ago. I believe it was +2 hours for on-duty, and drive-time. I never took advantage of that because we slip-seat around here, and try to keep it to 12hr shifts. I've only ever used the 16hr rule twice in 9 years, and that was because of weather road closure issues. If this goes on for a bit, you'll start seeing fuel hauling companies start to send Sleeper units up to that region instead of the more common day-cabs. Not sure where drivers go to load up there, but it could be a pretty long haul for a single tanker of fuel. Around here, our newest "long" turn is exactly 575 miles round trip. Which makes for a bit of driving. Usually takes me right around 11 hours to do that run: pre-trip, drive to pipeline and load, drive across the state, unload, drive back, fuel and post-trip. View Quote Last time there was a pipeline problem, truckers could fill up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and go east. This time, I assume that they have to fill up in Texas. They also used barges from Texas to New England. |

I expected this to happen to the electric grid first. Really didn’t know about the gas pipeline vulnerability. We’ve got holes all over.

When they had the leak just outside of Huntersville and the line was shutdown for 17 days most of our stations around here closed up after 3-4 days. Paid $2.79. Gas taxes in NC suck |

So this means gas will be cheaper in Houston since they'll want to do something with all the refined products that aren't going down the pipeline to the east coast, right?
Not that I care too much, I've only put 1500 miles on my car in the last four months. |

How is it that in the day and age of internet hacking, critical infrastructure like this is still connected to the internet?
You'd think it would be completely isolated from constant connectivity and use encrypted data bursts to control components. Shit like this shouldn't be possible. |

Just a a dry run for when they eventually ban fossil fuels.
Conditioning everyone for higher fuel prices along with shortages |
