In the latest of countless scandals involving the Biden administration’s failure to secure the border, over half a million illegal aliens with criminal histories are roaming freely in the United States, 435,719 with convictions and another 226,847 with pending charges. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), created after 9/11 to protect the country from another terrorist attack, has released the foreign criminals in cities around the U.S., according to the Deputy Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the DHS agency charged with “enforcing immigration laws to preserve national security and public safety.” In figures reluctantly provided to Congress ICE’s second in command, Patrick Lechleitner, reveals that as of July 21, 2024 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories are on the agency’s “non-detained docket” and therefore roaming freely throughout the country. The data is “beyond disturbing,” said the Texas congressman, Republican Tony Gonzales, who forced DHS to provide the records.

Nearly 15,000 of the freed illegal aliens have been convicted of or charged with murder, more than 20,000 with sexual assault, 60,268 with burglary, larceny, or robbery, 105,146 with assault, 16,820 with weapon offenses, 3,971 with commercialized sex crimes and 3,372 with kidnapping. Over 126,000 have committed traffic offenses, more than 70,000 are in the system for drug crimes, 21,106 for fraudulent activities and 12,000 for obstruction of justice.

(The Center Square) – A minimum of 1,525,210 foreign nationals illegally crossed the Southwest U.S. border in fiscal 2024, according to preliminary data The Center Square exclusively obtained from a Border Patrol agent on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal.

The data excludes Office of Field Operations data, gotaway data (those who illegally entered and evaded capture), and northern border apprehension data, meaning the overall number is likely much higher.

It also excludes the 1.3 million inadmissables released into the U.S. through two parole programs created by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The 2024 fiscal year began on October 1, 2023, and ends September 30, 2024.

Secretary of State Jane Nelson issued the new guidance after an earlier memo sent out Tuesday created an outcry from Congress to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Critics were concerned the new guidance might allow non-citizens to vote.

The new guidance said that if a voter presented a non-citizen drivers license, he or she must also provide proof of citizenship before they could cast their ballot.

A new bombshell scoop from NBC News revealed an internal U.S. Border Patrol memo claiming that 30 percent of camera towers that compose the agency's "Remote Video Surveillance System" (RVSS) program are broken. According to the report, the memo describes "several technical problems" affecting approximately 150 towers.

Except, this isn't a bombshell. What should actually be shocking is that Congressional leaders are acting shocked, like those who recently sent a letter about the towers to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. These revelations simply reiterate what people who have been watching border technology have known for decades: Surveillance at the U.S.-Mexico border is a wasteful endeavor that is ill-equipped to respond to an ill-defined problem.

In fact, the history of camera towers at the border is an ugly cycle. First, Border Patrol introduces a surveillance program with a catchy name and big promises. Then a few years later, oversight bodies, including Congress, conclude it's an abject mess. But rather than abandon the program once and for all, border security officials come up with a new name, slap on a fresh coat of paint, and continue on. A few years later, history repeats.

'I love Kamala Harris,' a young Venezuelan man declared as he rested on the side of a highway in southern Mexico last week.

His belongings were heaped at his feet. Hundreds of fellow migrants stretched out along the roadway in both directions.

They're headed for the U.S. and nearly all of them have an opinion about who should be America's next president.

'Donald Trump, no,' the Venezuelan man said, shaking his head and dragging his thumb across his throat in a slicing motion.

'If [Trump] wins… one has to do what the government says, [wait] for my turn,' said Carlos, a Honduran man in a caravan 30 miles north of Tapachula.

In reality, it's unlikely that these migrants will be able to make the 1,300-mile trek in the next two weeks. But they can try.

And there's another more complicated reason that the caravans have started back up: The Mexican government is encouraging them.

'If [Trump] wins… one has to do what the government says, [wait] for my turn,' said Carlos, a Honduran man in a caravan 30 miles north of Tapachula.

The caravans that I traveled with were escorted by Mexican National Guard escorts, something that I have witnessed.

A group of Ghanaian men in a congested park in Tapachula told me that they feared a Trump presidency.

'We do not like Donald Trump, because he don't like us,' one man said.

To him, Kamala Harris is the preferred option.

Another Ghanian man said he plans to wait for the results of the election, before making his next move: 'If after election day [Harris is elected], we know that everything is good, then we can enter.'

A middle-aged Venezuelan man also in the park reiterated those fears: 'We know that if Donald Trump wins, all the migrants will be kicked out the [United States]… we hope that he doesn't win.'

It is still unclear how far north these migrant caravans will get before America votes – and I suspect that many migrants only wish to escape Tapachula.

But, certainly, it seems likely that after November 5 – Mexico's newly-elected president will consider her country's part in 'Operation Carousel' to be complete and lift any remaining immigration controls.

That would mean hundreds of thousands of migrants, who have been waiting out the U.S. election in Mexico, may be permitted to – once again – try their luck at crossing illegally into the U.S.

(The Center Square) – Of the 14 million illegal border crossers reported under the Biden-Harris administration, more than 3 million are from four countries whose citizens were granted expanded entry through a parole program created by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela (CHNV).

At least 2,496,080 illegal border crossers from CHNV countries were reported under the Biden-Harris administration, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. The data represents fiscal years 2021-2024, excluding the first three months of fiscal 2021 under the previous administration. The federal fiscal year is from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30.

When including the 531,000 released into the country through CHNV, the total increases to at least 3,027,080 from these four countries. The total excludes gotaways, those who illegally entered and evaded capture, those released into the country through the CBP One App and other parole programs Mayorkas created, and the tens of thousands of Haitians and Cubans repatriated by the U.S. Coast Guard, The Center Square reported.

Mayorkas argues the CHNV and other parole programs are legal and necessary; federal judges have ruled they aren’t.

‘Stunning security failure’: U.S. agents miss Venezuelan gang tattoos in scan for refugee approvals

The Department of Homeland Security greenlighted refugee applications for Venezuelan gang members after immigration officers failed to spot their gang tattoos, The Washington Times has learned.

Kevin Grigsby, head of refugee operations at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, said several members of the vicious Tren de Aragua gang were approved and made it to the U.S. border before a different agency spotted the tattoos and blocked them from entering.

Experts said tattoos are a standard indicator of gang membership and expressed shock that USCIS was missing those red flags. Concerns have been heightened about TDA, whose members have been linked to a series of high-profile crimes.

In an email obtained by The Times, Mr. Grigsby scolded his employees for failing to perform basic checks.

“Unfortunately we did not ask about the tattoos during our adjudication or did not identify that the tattoos asked about were consistent with gang membership,” he wrote in the Sept. 16 message. “The potential entry of suspected gang members into the United States represents a serious public safety concern that we need to make sure we are being vigilant against.”

While businesses only created 12,000 additional jobs in October, that number was around one-ninth of the 112,500 new jobs anticipated and only about one tenth of the number of illegal immigrants that came into the US, according to data reported by NewsNation’s Ali Bradley.

Breitbart noted that 150,000 legal immigrants, temporary foreign workers, and refugees have also entered the country in the last month.

U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents are finding dead bodies that have been tossed over the international barrier in California, according to San Diego citizen journalist Amy Reichert.

Reichert’s USBP sources have shown her spots along the border wall where murder victims have been discarded, specifically in areas where two layers of parallel barrier have created a “no man’s land” on the southern frontier.

The body count is in, and it tells a grim tale of the enormous human suffering that comes with the Biden administration’s open-border policies. Federal statistics show that 2,700 migrants have died while attempting to cross into the United States during the Biden-Harris years. That number is on par with the murder rate in Chicago, America’s deadliest city.

There were 2,136 homicides in the Windy City from 2021 to 2023. So far this year, 494 people have been slain as of Oct. 26. If that horrific pace continues, an additional 100 Chicagoans will be murdered by Dec. 31. That would make 2,730 murders in the four-year span beginning in 2021. The Biden administration seems to be presiding over a death zone at the porous US southern border akin to the most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago.

When the news hit the airwaves that Donald Trump had won the 2024 presidential election, panic fell on traveling immigrants who had hoped Vice President Kamala Harris would become the next commander-in-chief. For a couple of months now, people have been traveling to the US, hoping to get in before the changing of the guard. Currently, there is a caravan in Mexico of about 3,000 headed this way.

As it became clear that Trump would become the 47th president of the US, migrants shared their fears and advice on WhatsApp, which happens to be a common way for smugglers to advertise their – ahem – services, as NBC News reported. Here are a few snippets of conversations:

   “After the 21 of January, he’ll [Trump] close the borders with extreme security.”
   “He [Trump] takes power on the 21 of January. He can’t make any decree yet.”
   “There’s not a lot of [time] left. He has the decrees already in his mind.”
   “You have until January to enter.”

Gustavo Banda operates Templo Embajadores de Jesus, a shelter in Tijuana, Mexico, with a capacity for about 1,400 migrants. He told NBC News that coyotes (smugglers) are pressuring people to start crossing the border now.  “Of course, the coyotes will arrive, they are going to say that they need to get in before Donald Trump arrives.”
