US made 556's are compatible with Swiss lowers though, so you can have a US made gun with a Swiss magwell/release. Sig USA released the 551A1, which almost looks like the SAN Swiss guns but has the wrong handguards/sights. In any case the gun in the photo is most likely not a 556, as I noted the sights/receiver finish (if original) are not characteristic of the 556. |

A French MAT-49 SMG for sale recently somewhere in #Idlib, #Syria.
As you can notice, the stock is missing. It is one of the cheapest SMGs there and the usual price is around $100-150 (sometimes even less) despite the fact it is quite uncommon. Attached File Attached File And here they are in their natural habitat Attached File |

View Quote @InternationalM Most likely a combination of it not being flashy enough, being just common enough it's not a one off, and considered outdated. For example, the commander for the SAA in Syria rocked a B&T MP9, which probably broke social media in the region at the time due to it being a no shit rarity. He was top dog, and it was personified through his weapon choice. Hard to flex on the gram with a MAT 49 you know? Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Some common guns recently sold so you can get an idea for market price.
#Iraq: If you want the full package, here is what seems to be a PK/Type 80 machine gun with Bulgarian MG-1M barrel, along with 1000 rounds of (likely) Chinese 7.62x54r ball. Machine gun is about $2900 & ammo is $390, so $0.39 a round. Not too bad, MG is a bit overpriced. Attached File Attached File #Iraq: An RPG-7 pattern launcher (Looks like an Iraqi-made al Nasirah) with PGO-7V optic and PG-7V pattern projectile for sale as a package recently. This costs $340. Not a bad deal for it all. Single rounds go for ~$50 per in kurdistan, and a little less in Baghdad. #Aleppo: RPDs can be found for rather cheap in opposition held areas, as they don't have a particularly useful role when the PK/M exists. This one for sale in #DaratIzza costs just $60. (Looks Chinese to me, not totally sure) An extremely clean FN M16A4 on sale in #Baghdad #Iraq recently for $2200. Looks fresh out of the packaging to me. Attached File Attached File |

A M249 PIP for sale somewhere in #Idlib, #Syria 2 months ago.
This machine gun is much harder to obtain than PKM derivatives due to its scarcity. On this particular MG you can even notice the US Department of Defence Inventory Label. The asking price was $4200 Attached File |
