Bo, You are one tough MFer. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. I'm glad you felt better after getting some nutrition. I think that's positive news that you finally have some fuel to fight back now. Ask them to keep it coming and to do as much as they can to keep you nourished and rested. Focus on nourishment and rest. I believe if you do that, your body can gain the strength it will need to fight the side effects of the chemo and to keep you going until the tumors shrink and hopefully go away for good. How does this chemo treatment work? Is there any way they can target the affected areas instead of poisoning you everywhere with the chemo drugs? Have your doctors tried contacting the Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion and to see if they've had any success using specific, targeted treatments? I'm a big believer in thinking outside the box and controlling your own destiny. Take as much control over your situation as you can. One thing I've learned in my short time on this earth is there are a LOT of medical professionals that just go through the motions, and although they might seem to care, they can be limited in their ability to think critically or actually care enough to truly fight for you in the way you would or a family member would. I say question everything and seek the very best treatment this earth has to offer. . Also, your faith in God and your attitude towards your situation is truly inspirational! Update on all of this: Sorry for not doing this sooner, but for those wondering, this is Bo's daughter. I only made this account to give an update and answer any questions that people may have. I found this thread when I searched myself, as one does, and decided to give an update since you all deserve this. The stuff that ruffhowzer posted is true, he died of cancer on October 11th, 2023. He passed peacefully in his sleep, and is hopefully up in heaven, probably flying airplanes or messing around with other stuff. He wasn't buried, but instead cremated, and we set his ashes free where he requested; at an old cross on a hill near his childhood town. While I didn't have a great relationship with him, I will say he was brave and enthusiastic. He battled cancer for three years, even as it came back. In his words, he "went out of this world the same way he came in; kicking and screaming covered in blood." Metaphorically, of course, but he fought hard right until the end. I want to thank those who were his friends on here, even if I never knew you. I also want to give my condolences to you, for praying for him and giving him strength. Thank you all, from Brianna. |
