Was standing just outside the house and one flew fast on a north/south orientation. Had just enough time to grab some binoculars to have a look. Was about 1500 feet. That was kind of unexpected.

In 1998, I was camping out at a nice beach park on the west side of Kauai and suddenly heard this loud alarm from the buildings to the south. It was the DoD's missile testing base, a Tomahawk was launched every 15 minutes or so from there for the rest of that day.

OP has not returned with clarification, so I'm going to assume this is a prank.

Subs launch them off the coast of florida towards some range in georgia (or they did back in the 90's, at least)
We launched one, it ran out of fuel and landed in a farmer's field. I'll see if I can find the article eta: not the specific failure, but similar: tomahawk fails ( on its way to Elgin ) |

A couple of T-45s seemed to be on the same line but going the opposite direction about 30 minutes earlier. Doubt they had anything to do with it.

Op....
Did you see a cruise missile ?? (Bullshit.... as the US military has NO FAA clearance to fly ordnance over civilian airspace) Did you see a Plane ?? Did you see a balloon ?? |
|
I do find this hard to believe. Speed estimate? Could it just have been a drone?
