You're right. Why show a year old graph? Unless you want to highlight Sharma's offering nonsense...Let's bring that up to date.

<has an open ATM
<doesn't use it
<announced new ATM and kills momentum
<cancels ATM and promises to find alternate financing
<opens new ATM
Does that about sum it up?

Last years announcement (meeting date is wrong) with two recent charts, but the right chart seems "off"

They did lose $10m even with greater than expected revenue.  Still, I want to sell and get out before this causes a drop.

Hopium. Except this time, we have a 150 million ATM open (with another 100 mill loaded)  instead of 40, or whatever it was last year.

@jpcdmd did you buy in?  Up 8% AH on 1.3 mm volume.
This ceo reminds me of the hearing aid pumper.

Did the Shares Out just jump from 195 to 206 ?

Yahoo is still showing 195 for me..... although if my theory is correct from a few weeks back at some point it will be 220 something. When the stock went from 2.50 down to where it's at and it had like 7 days of around 6 million volume my belief is they tapped the ATM for 50 million,  yahoo briefly show the 220 million shares briefly then it dropped back to 195

Hold that thought, I need to do some DD on this. The March announcement said $150M in share value, and I don't know whether this is the actual share float authorization to meet that end value.

The image was 2023.  Current vote is three items, no dilution, at least what I see:

1.Vote Board of Directors
2.To approve on a non-binding advisory basis the compensation of the Company's named executive officers.
3.To ratify the selection of Moss Adams LLP as the Company's independent registered public accounting firm for the current fiscal year.

Is there a consensus on our ad-hoc voting block... I have my own thoughts but I feel confident that we are headed in a good direction (except for the timeline that we have no control over).

Keep in mind that the automakers have their own timeline and highly paid lobbyists who know what the .gov is going to require via fiat or legislative mandate.

I am as impatient as most of you, but when I bought my ticket to ride, the schedule was shown to me (at least) to still be a ways out. We are close (real close?) but I prefer to wait it out (or buyout???).

The knowledge and due diligence of the hive is very impressive.

I sit on the curb......waiting.

Good luck!

https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/3/24148395/luminar-lidar-layoff-outsource-autonomous-vehicle

Key details for the hates to read crowd

The company reported a net loss of $571.3 million for 2023, up from $445.9 million in 2022. It also brought in $69.7 million in revenue, up from $40.7 million the previous year.

The restructuring is expected to net the company $400 million in savings over the next five years, Russell said, including $80 million in savings “on an annual run basis.”

Looking like over 300m loss for 2024 with 290m in the bank.

They were the best lidar manufacturer because they made their own units -- until they didn't
And the "4b order book" - aka company hopium on steroids -- seems to not be helping much

So the idea is the sell off was all emotional and they’ll get the results they want from next trial?
That doesn’t seem short term though
Or the price will recover 20% as the week rolls on and everyone chills out?
Layoffs usually help the stock price, right?

This is pretty entertaining...

If you've seen the thread about the guy asking if HIMS is good first short, I did a little DD and kind of tried to talk him out of it. Fundamentals are pretty good, the business model is accelerating and they have almost no debt. The hard fall came after the (Palestinian) CEO stepped in deep shit with a comment about hiring the Pali protesters, which he has now walked back.

The more I read, the more I thought about buying a slice. My wife said, "Why don't you sleep on it, and decide tomorrow." The piece I missed was their quarterly earnings were released this afternoon.

Stock made 3.46% this afternoon, and is up almost 11% in the after hours. Dammit

Buying the morning dip would have gotten a healthy return (~25%) for a day trade by eod. No idea what it'll look like in the morning... or in a week.

A perfect trade could have been near 50%. Unfortunately, I was gifted with hindsight instead of foresight.

Their last earnings jumped ~ 20%. I didn't realize they had EC today. The premiums were a bit much today, probably because of the 20% move last EC. I saw the thread, but figured he'd learn one way or another.

Imagine wanting to revenge-short a company and not knowing they had an EC that day.

Book value of the company was $1.27/share so the drop to 30 cents seemed like an huge overshot. I bought at around 52 cents thinking there would be at least a recovery to the 200ma on the 1-miute chart by mid-morning, probably around 70-80 cents. It stayed flat after a brief run to 63 cents.. So presumably the market thinks it might be toast? I did some minor DD and the only other pipeline was actually the same drug in a slightly different application. I guess there's a chance they restructure the trial for a different endpoint but I'm too impatient to wait around for that.

Too risky for my tastes so I dumped it all before close. Moving on.

Under bidenomics, having the EC could work in your favor, there's been quite a few painful ones lately.

I doubt he shorted it.  You don't usually go from "how do I short a stock" to "I shorted a stock" in a day.

If he had,  I'm sure we'd have seen the "what is a margin call" followup thread by now.
