I've never been a fan of college music bands. And I didn't expect much from a Dutch university's salsa band (especially with a cello player) but DAMN, this Orchestra Harlow cover cooks. Great violin and flute solos.
ETA: I think if they were in a bar environment (and they were drinking) it would make the performance more vibrant. For me, that's the natural environment for many music forms.  El Paso de Encarnacion |

FWIW, a compilation of Ethiopian jazz. Ethiopia has quite a fascinating culture. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. There's a lot of Arabic and Greek influence even on some of these recordings. I think a lot of this stuff is from the 60s and 70s.
