I first heard this Louvain Brothers cover by the Byrds, used to listen to that when I quit the bar band I was in to go to a Russian Orthodox seminary.

But this reggae version by Sanchez might just be my favorite.

My dad met Bob before he was famous on a port of call to Jamaica. He was just a lounge singer at that time.

Cool, I found a copy of (Bob Marley) The Wailers' Catch A Fire album in the early summer of 1973. I talked our band into playing Kinky Reggae from it...wasn't an easy task. But people loved that tune everywhere we played it. And proud to say a year before Eric Clapton's cover of I Shot The Sherriff.

I remember it well! I had a classmate at St Vladimir's Orthodox Seminary, from Lorain. He told me of being sick at home from school and calling in to WMMS and talking to Alex Bevan on the live show. He's a priest in Rochester Hills, MI, now (Fr Andy, not Alex). We have stayed in touch over the many years.
