Pulled the trigger on an Armortek kit. No electronics yet, I’ll get those later on after I build it.

Not a whole lot at the moment, but I hope to add some updates as I progress with the build.

Turret roof is the first thing I pulled out and it’s ginormous. CZ for scale

you can do some interesting things with details from 3D modeling and 3D printing at this scale.

Armortek 1/6th scale RC T34/85 project video #18 (rear armor plate details)

Oh man, I wanted to build one so bad.   Just cannot justify the cost.  Instead of super glue, you need a TIG welder, right?

Oh yes, I have some ideas and 2 printers standing by. Finding files that can be adjusted to scale that looks right is harder than I thought it would be. Small details look like crap if a smaller scale is enlarged to much. As an experiment I enlarged some 1/35 scale stuff, it's a little rough

John from East Coast Armory in that video is a pro and does great work. His printed parts are not cheap.

Well, now is as good a time as any to learn to 3D model.

I did because I am too lazy to build detail parts at 1/87 scale.
There are so many tutorials out there, anyone can do it.   Especially for things like a tank, making bolts and plates, etc... is a breeze.

I was just on their website last night.  I've had the itch for years but $5k for a kit is a bit too much for me.  Now if they did an M113 or an M60A1 I think I'd be in.

at least this stuff you can look at as a multi-generational investment.

Hell yeah.  Another hobby I'd love to get into.  $$$ for entry is steep though.
