The economy wasn't so hot with Nixon's wage and price controls, and then Carter came along and killed the economy, setting the stage for the 80's.
Girls were thin and feminine, and cute girls were all over the place. Fatties were unusual. Gas was cheap for awhile, but the Middle East flare up made them rise. You could buy a muscle car very cheap, because everyone was buying smaller, more fuel efficient cars trying to beat the gas crisis. But being a teenager in the 70's was great. The 80's was a return to greatness after about 7 years of poop. I liked both the 70's and 80s, except for the 1972 Z Brick that my mother had my father install on the entryway wall.

I grew up in the 70's. Looking back most of it sucked. One thing that stands out as an adult was the crazy sex people were having. Socially, it was ok just to fuck everywhere. Like say your an 8 year old at a campground with your parents. You might get babysat by your camping neighbors that they just met while they go fuck in the nearby woods for an hour. People would fuck in the car while kids were inside playing. Fuck in the same hotel room while kids were sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags. Fuck on a blanket at the park surrounded by picnicking families. Crazy shit like that.

No they were the best of times. Hot chicks everywhere, the best live concerts and music and we all had 60’s muscle cars that we’d cruise out at the lakefront and even disco wasn’t that bad if you could dance. There was a place in Metairie called Fat City and it was a 5 block square of clubs everywhere and you could walk literally club to club all night and get a banging BBQ sandwich and a beer to end the night. A target rich environment of fun. I’d definitely go back. Good Times

I was a teen the biggest part of the '70s. It was a fun time. Thankfully we didn't have any of the atrocious wood paneling or puke green kitchen appliances.

I remember camping and my new friends were sent over to our camp fire while their parents took a walk. Us hearing funny noises coming from the nearby woods and my parents saying it was wild animals. I also distinctively remember being at the beach and the head board in the next hotel room practically coming through the wall. I remember my dad saying something to the guy about it the next morning and the couple just giggling. Some guy railing on his woman out on a sparsely populated beach in the morning. Mom yelling at dad to stop looking that direction. Couples had sex everywhere and thought it was just okay. Weird as hell looking back on it now. |
