My Hota S6 just shorted out, and the left port now short circuits every battery you plug in. Happened mid charge and thank God I was standing right there when it happened. It immediately threw an abnormal voltage warning and the pack puffed nearly instantly and was too hot to touch. Grabbed the plug with a pair of pliers, ripped it out, and ran it to the fire pit. Charger smells burned. Just for troubleshooting I tried a second battery and it too instantly threw an abnormal voltage warning. So it's Def the charger. Tested balance boards, and they are good. So need a new charger. Not buying another Hota. So thinking maybe Venom? Needs 6s capability. |

The Gens Ace Imars D300 seems pretty good. I'm using a cheaper Ovonic X1 200w charger. Seems to work well for my purposes. I mostly have 2S with a couple 3S that I'm going to use for portable ham radio. Both of those will do up to 6S. |

For a while I was considering buying a "better" charger because my son was running larger packs in faster cars (I mostly ran crawlers/trail rigs). In the end I just bought more packs and a second, duplicate charger. Never been an issue, so I never "upgraded". |

| Just to update this thread I ended up going with a Hitec RDX2 800. I wanted something with a bit more power and good reviews. I think this will fit that bill nicely. I have another charger for my Spektrum batteries and despite being 400w I easily max out it's wattage when charging my larger packs. |

I have one of those too, I only use it for my 2S buggies, 25 amp in parallel mode gets them charged pretty quick between heats. |
