Too many variables to calculate. But there’s the general vibe that all the really important things are going in the wrong direction. And no amount of high level financial scams are going to bootstrap us out of it. Personally I think there’s 2 things that keep us from widespread chaos. One is that people can still afford food, the other is that whenever any 3 people get together to effect any kind of change beyond that of the most pointless and tepid varieties. 2 Of those people are either corporate shills or police informants or more and more often both. To say nothing at all of the fact that AI powered surveillance cameras are everywhere. So for the time being the only real variable in the deck is lone nuts and over the last few years the lone nuts have had a particularly embarrassing track record of utterly pointless and often hilarious failures. |

Most don't understand 20 years, or 2046, is like asking someone in 1860 what 1960 would be like. Tech has proven itself to be exponential across most domains and disciplines. What's more important, we are on the right side of the hockey stick curve now. The tech is beginning to go vertical. Tech is coming at us so fast now, it's hard to stay loosely acquainted with the changes. If AGI recursive self-improvement becomes separated from human influence, we'll essentially have Gods controlling us in low single-digit years. |

Gen X is malleable from my perspective. They aren't on board with historic boomer and Evangelical politics, many grew up with the internet in their lifetimes and have seen some things. The support for Israel is a key factor on why sand people do nasty things to America. Once that influence reduces from boomers, the threats reduce to our country. America needs to let sand people fight their own sand people wars without American support and influence. It's been happening for 2,000+ years per history. We have bigger problems to focus on, like American priorities, especially in the Asianic theater with real allies like SK and Taiwan. That pivot was attempted under prior administrations for the betterment of Americans, until a supposed key ME ally convinced, or maybe duped, the decision maker into launching a new war and front. Now we are are all suffering from that decision in our wallets. |

AI is going to “liberate” millions of workers, mostly .gov folks. Unemployment will be at 30-40%. The middle class will be almost entirely eliminated, with multiple generations of families living in the same home. This will be possible only because of combined UBIs for residents that—combined—will cover the most basic of needs, but not in First World style. This may cause a mass movement of the population out of the cities for some folks, who not finding work available in the city anyway, flee the increased violence of an incredibly worsening low-trust society. This pattern will cause rumblings of balkanization to emerge in social-media, but fear of losing UBI from the federal .gov limits such conjecture to mildly passionate, low-attendance protests that achieve nothing, to the relief of many. Muslim influence will be at its highest level in a Western society. Major cities will fall to islamic control, as well as a sizeable portion of congress. At this time, legislation to modify the Constitution to be friendlier to islamic policy will already have been in the works for several years. At this point, many congress members and government public figures haven’t been speaking English for years, because instant translation has been available for a decade—and speaking English is seen by many “newmembers” as a tool of colonialist imperialism anyway. A return of the .gov to democrat control results in two decades of a political malaise characterized by high unemployment, lower availability of consumer products including those considered critical, with a government more concerned with liberal extremist policies than actual beneficial legislation. Government censure of media and information will be accomplished through guided AI “agencies” making what passes for the future internet nothing more than a programming/enforcement tool. “Cell phones” will be wetware equipment: that is to say, available as cybernetic implants. These implants will also allow control of the basic function of most household functions. There will be some high-profile crimes committed with wetware ‘hacking’ that will cause uproar within social circles; the .gov will implement new, cyber monitoring command and control functions under the Protect Individual Bioware Act that effectively allows .gov “protection” of everything seen, heard, viewed, and experienced by net users “in the name of safety”. Major protests in denser cities get the .gov to “stop” monitoring for drug use, which used to make an individual ineligible for UBI, but democrat-inspired legislation kills this requirement…and makes wetware “a human right”. Public schools will be unrecognizable to what we know, serving to mostly “educate” children on how to use their wetware effectively. The divide between wetware-enhanced folks and those afraid of/resistant to the technology will mostly have been eliminated at this point, due to unenhanced people increasingly unable to compete or even function with the wetware enabled. Most employment doesn’t provide “training” to folks, as much as allowing them access to privileged software that allows them to perform work functions while under license. A much-reduced full-time active duty military function is performed—as the need arises—by “newdraft” personnel who are downloaded with required mission software as necessary. Society, in general, will at the same time be more connected than ever, while never being more discordant. AI-powered personal assistants will have replaced human partners for millions, exponentially increasing the inability of a quickly growing majority of society to interact in anything resembling our current time’s social mores. I won’t talk about what this does to population totals. |
