You're right.

The point stands though that 2011s have bolt up plastic or metal grips and are otherwise a DS 1911.

Plastic grips on a Platypus? Please, tell us more about your knowledge on this handgun

PS: I agree that liking the Platypus makes you a 1911 guy by default

Nah, homie. The Platypus frame is one big chunk of metal. There are no removable grips. I think there are a couple other DS 2011s that do the same. Maybe 10mm RIAs?

I acknowledged that in my last post.

Most people consider a pistol a DS 1911 if the grip isn't removable (like the MACs or Paras), and a 2011 if it is (like a Prodigy or a Stacatto).

But they're all basically 1911s. We don't say that Glock 48s aren't Glocks.

The Lemats revolver, and every day that Smith and Wesson or Taurus fail to produce a modern implementation is an affront to all that is good

If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. We need the following modern versions of the Lemat:

45LC/12G

44/20G

357/410

How ever many pistol rounds you can fit in the cylinder is fine. But this shouldn’t be an impossible task.

Apologies. I thought you were still saying the venomous marsupial gat has grip plates. Just wanted to make sure folks knew that was not the case.

And I agree on your other points.

If we're talking all time I'll go with this
Second place goes to the Glock for its impact on the shift to polymer handguns over the last forty years
