Thinking about building one of these so the wife and i can poke around the flats and spoil islands on Sundays without much fuss. Easy to rig and sail single handed, easy to trailer, and pretty damned sea-worthy.

Core Sound 17

I'm a big Skyline enthusiast after following Blackfox building his...but alas...I'll never afford one.

I've always wanted a Nordhavn, but never got serious about rounding one up.

Family currently owns a 1970 38' Pacemaker Sportfish with twin diesels. I love it, but growing up on it has taught me a ton of things. First off the bigger the boat the bigger (and more expensive) the headaches. Second, size is and isn't everything. There's a limit to what's useable where you are, but it's also nice to have a larger boat for the added room.

That said, I LOVE the Bayliss boats. Absolutely in love with the 77' Clean Sweep and 77' Wave Paver. If I get the money to do nothing but travel on them and fish, then a hull similar to those will be my dream boat. If I'm stuck with the lifestyle I currently have, I'd want a boat with similar performance and style to those hulls but in the 55-65' range (even that's pushing it here, they're just too wide and draw too much water, I'd probably have to dredge the canal). Just seeing an almost 80' boat cruise at 35 knots and push over 40 wide open is just amazing. Then when you look inside and it's like the boat isn't even made to fish, it's essentially a house.

Alright I'll go back to being poor and dreaming now...

You don’t have to be rich. Just learn to rig bait and get really good with a chamois.

Zaandam or Westerdam, or any other Holland America cruise ship.  I'd like to cruise a week at a time, around four weeks total a year.

Or be a passenger on a passenger freighter.  Spend some time on the bridge and all that.

Those Freemans will haul ass! I fished out of Orange Beach AL on one a few years ago, it was amazing. We were blowing by other boats on the way out that were having a hard time in the chop, we skimmed across the tops and stayed dry the whole time. Very stable too, hard to beat a catamaran hull for stability.

I have my dream inshore boat. I sketched out design and ordered my skiff when Stu Apt's hull was getting rigged out. I think his was hull #4 or 5. My Hells Bay Whipray is hull #8.
I'm not an offshore guy but I'd take a Yellowfin, an everglades or a contender. Probably wouldn't get used that much so it doesn't make that much of a difference to me.

Restored Elco PT boat.  The torpedos and tubes can be dummies, but I’m going to need operational guns.  And I want one of those field expedient P-39  37mm autocannons on the foredeck.

Or a 31’ Bertram Sport Fisherman.

I’m an old woman and I like old boats.

I like your style. 80 ft Elco is one of the best lookin boats ever built. My lottery winnings will go to building an aluminum replica. 2500 cubic inch Packards are hard to source so it will have to be high speed diesels !

I can dream pretty big, but the following are at least monetarily attainable to regular folks.

What fuel?

Pre war Chris Craft barrel back.

Salmon slayer. Or Kokanee. Or halibut.

For years I've wanted a 22ft bay boat. Small enough to use in the lakes around here and big enough to have some friends go out with us, or take it down to the coast and even offshore on the smooth days during the summer. In March we bought one.  It is pretty dreamy so far.

Ever since I was young boy I've wanted a Cap Dory cutter to sail the world in.

I guess I'm a little bit of a 'houseboat' kind of guy, I'd rather prowl the Intercoastal Waterway and live aboard than throw up rooster tails.
Just give me enough room for an car/cycle in front to go to town with.

Third down on the list is a 1970 Formula Thunderbird 23' that's come up on craigslist.  Has a 454, and is big enough to fuck off with in the Puget sound, and from what I've read will do 45-50 pretty easy and cruise at 30+ mph.

There's no really good pics on the CL add.

Not the same boat, but the same type;

Basically the sport version of the Formula 233 race boat of the 60's.
There is a 20' is Bryant, a 1959 Sabrecraft and 1957 Lonestar I've been looking at as well.

Basically my dream boat right now is a 18-25' day cruiser that's trailer-able and can either fit in my backyard or driveway for storage.
Working as a yacht mechanic for the last few months has really helped dial in the total cost of ownership for bigger boats.

kind of this, I have had 2 canoes, one boat, and I think I would be happy with one of those cheap plastic kayaks for the little I would use any boat.  They are right in my price range, no fees to pay for licencing/numbers.  and as long as I keep it out of the sun, one should last my lifetime.

This bad bitch right here. I did all the quality inspections and you can bet I didn't miss a thing. It was for the owner of the shipbuilding company I used to work for. Only thing I'd add is a crew served weapon, fore and aft.
