View Quote Have not had Tahwahkaro. I'll look for it at Spec's. Another Texas whiskey that's worth your time is anything by Andalusia. Not terribly expensive, decent quality. Then there's Garrison Brothers, but that does get expensive fast. |

Wild Turkey Rare Breed is my hands down favorite. Pro tip is to find it at a Sam's Club for $40, the $60-65 normal liquor stores are charging lately is getting a bit steep. Great however you drink it, even mixed with Coke Zero. Have to be careful drinking it neat due to the high proof but easy drinking, will sneak up on me. Favorite bourbon for old fashioned mixing, due to the high proof keeping an edge on the final drink.
Russel's Reserve 10 if I don't have time to swing by Sam's for WTRB. Very good, similar tasting notes to me, just weaker, but also cheaper. Usually drank neat/on a large ball of ice, lower proof makes old fashioneds a bit too sweet/weak. Four Roses Single Barrel is probably 3rd place. Very good for the price, just not as high proof as WTRB. I'll only drink this neat/with a large ball of ice, too weak to mix into an old fashioned for me. Really want to try Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof Bourbon when I can find it, as the Rye version is fantastic and I've heard the Bourbon is just as good. |

For that matter it’s possible it actually originated in Louisiana….hence the French name. It’s a shame you would limit yourself great whiskey based on a silly government law and marketing. |
