I will probably be up there for a week beginning Sat. I won't get a car so no trips too far out of the city.
Thanks D |

Idk, but our new employees in omaha NE, iowa, and maine seem to be suffering some sorta cabin fever
Keep your head on your shoulders is all I can say. Get drunk and keep to yourself? Speed |

88 Tactical looks like quite a facility. Range/classes/restaurant and bar. Havent been but plan to stop sometime
https://88tactical.com/ The old market district has quite a few restaurants and nightlife. Upstream Brewing is pretty good |
|
Upstream Brewing Co. used to be a good place to grab a couple beers and good meal. But it's been a long time since I have been there.
You might be able to grab a little range time at Tactical 88, the have some rentals available if you don't bring your own concealed carry. Although I imagine ammo prices are high. Might be able to catch a ball game Creighton, while your there. Or college NCAA volleyball is going to be in town. Not sure when that starts |

Quoted: SAC Museum in Ashland. Not too far from Omaha. Worth the trip. https://sacmuseum.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Website_Visitor-Information_Main.jpg https://assets.simpleviewinc.com/simpleview/image/upload/crm/omaha/SAS-GPC-120415-240_3dadd975-5056-a36a-091b9aa343e55ae7.jpg View Quote Absolutely worth it. Also check out the Henry Doorly Zoo. |

Thanks for all of the replies guys! I would love to go to that museum. I will have to see what an UBER will run. I got another suggestion for a burger place on the square and a record store.
I still don't have my work schedule nailed down. Ill either have zero free time or get off by two every day. |

With kids = Zoo
Without kids = downtown and college area bar secene Also you can swing over to the Iowa side and hit the casinos. |
|
The zoo is awesome. The rain forest exhibit is really cool. The Cabela’s is a nice. Eat at Granite city. There’s some really cool frontier forts close. Go look for fossils.
|
|
Get a wind gauge and take lots of readings. Other than that the SAC museum is pretty sweet. They have a B36 Peacemaker there. It makes the B52 look kind of small.

The city is still COVID-insane, though most of the rest of the state is fine. Be prepared to have SWAT teams called on you if you step into a gas station without 83 masks on your face...
|

I forget the name, but there a fast food roast beef shop around the corner from the Mutual of Omaha building that’s really good.
I was more exited to see the MoO building because I grew up watching Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. They’ve expanded the building a couple of times but looks like they took three different buildings and squeezed them together like a sandwich. |

Brickway Brewing, Upstream Brewing, Infusion Brewing, Farnam House Brewing. Nebraska Brewing Company isnt too far away from Omaha. Thats if youre into the whole craft thing at all. Brickway does have a distillery too!
ETA: Unsure of the covid-status of each establishment.... |

We go to Omaha twice a year to take our kids to the zoo. I enjoy it every time.
And while the wife takes the kids to the children's museum, I get to sneak off and walk over to Upstream, or some of the area bars. |
|
DAMN, It looks like I will have plenty of craft beers to try. I am staying about 2.5 miles from where I will be working and they will pay for Uber/Lyft so I will do my best to get to some of the places you all have mentioned. Hours at these things really vary but maybe I can get out early one afternoon and walk around.
Thanks, and if you see a bewildered fat guy in blue scrubs running around say hey! |
|
|
Plenty of good steak houses to try. The Drover, Cascios and Johnny’s Cafe are all good.

HARRAH’S COUNCIL BLUFFS HOTEL AND CASINO.
That's about it for Omaha. |

Is Zio's Pizza on Dodge Street still a thing? It's been over 20 years since I've been there but I remember the pizza being really good.
ETA: SAC Museum, Henry Doorly Zoo, Joslyn Art Museum, The Old Market. |

As folks have said, the zoo is one of the best in the world and the Old Market (downtown area) has plenty of good food. The local music scene used to be amazing although I'm out of that circle these days. |

I will probably be in bed before the bands come on if this ends up like my last gig with these folks. 0530 showtimes not fun anymore. |

College world series, not now and not during the "pandemic". So, no idea.

I believe the NCAA Women's volleyball tournament begins downtown next week so that might be an interesting place to be.

Quoted: HARRAH’S COUNCIL BLUFFS HOTEL AND CASINO. That's about it for Omaha. View Quote Lol. Riiiiight. Omaha has probably more restaurants per capita than most any other city. Independent restaurants not just chain garbage. Many distinct areas to shop and wine and dine (Old Market, Capital District, Midtown Crossing, Aksarben village, Blackstone district, Village Pointe, Dundee area (the Dundee Dell bar and grill had the most scotches on hand probably in the world 749? Or some insane amount like that, and great fish and chips) , and Benson area (although if you aren't from around here maybe don't venture to benson you are getting a bit close to north Omaha at that point ;) ) SAC museum, top tier zoo (rated in the top 5 in the world) The stupid pandemic has been hard on some of the stand alone restaurants so not sure who all will be open. |
