I have an old Campbell Hausfeld air compressor in my home garage. Horizontal tank. Something along these lines, but older:

One of the hoses has developed a split, so I need to replace it. I can manage to figure out and buy the correct size and transfer over the coupler, etc., but I would like your guidance on what kind of hose material I should choose.

I see rubber, poly hybrid, triple hybrid, polyurethane, PVC, etc.

The compressor is used for topping up Jeep tire pressures, mounting motorcycle tires, and running the odd air tool like an impact gun for stubborn nuts.

What hose material should I buy, and why that one, if you don't mind?

Thanks!

I just put 50' of Flexzilla on mine and I like it so far. Replaced some cheap crap that was stiff in summer and roughly the flexiblilty of an F-350 coil spring in the winter.

I did get about 15 years out of a good quality rubber (don't remember the brand) before it started splitting. The Flexzilla is definitlely lighter than rubber if that matters to you at all.

Prefer rubber. Years ago harbor freight had Goodyear ones they were great. Even there current rubber hoses are decent I have a 50ft and 2 25 ftrs.

Don’t like dealing with the 50 all the time so have a 25 ft for general and if I need a little more snap in another 25.

I have a couple of their hose reals, with the red rubber hose.  They've been solid.   The outer skin on the end of one is dry rotted a little, but it's at least 15 years old.

I'm a hired gun that works in different cabinet shops doing the finishing. I made them buy me the flexzilla hoses for the booth. they lay flat and don't stand up so I trip over them all day. the best!

I made the mistake of buying a flexIlla hose for my power washer.  Loved it so much I replaced my water hoses and air compressor hoses with flexzilla.

Like others have said, rubber, preferably Good Year.  Never PVC, Unless you only work in 90+ degree weather.

Flexilla or similar, all day every day. You couldn't pay me to go back to rubber hoses with the weight and the mind of their own when even slightly twisted

I bought a premium HF house with low temp PVC jacket about 30 years ago. Never had a leak or repair.

I bought the TSC flexzilla 50ft retractable reel last Black Friday on a good deal. It works well and auto retract doesn’t get bogged up. This is for use in my garage not commercial use.

Goodyear holds up very well but if you don't want to spend that much the hose that Tekton sells is made in the USA and is pretty damn good for the money.

Goodyear or Tekton Rubber.

Teckton Hybrid isn't too bad if you can't find rubber.

I've been using mine for 15+ years now.  Made in USA.  Bought it on sale at Harbor Freight.
