I would appreciate it if someone would answer my earlier post about using peanut oil for the popcorn.

Is it good?

Sounds good.

I've heard several people say coconut oil.

I don't like coconuts.

Does the oil make the popcorn taste even slightly like coconuts?

This.  Don't need the whirlypop though, just shaking the pot on the stove works.

Who would have guessed an overwhelming number of ar15 owners were so pretentious about popcorn, lol.

There are threads on how to cook the perfect popcorn and it's how I learned and do it now. It's the whirly bird, coconut oil, clarified butter and flavacol method. And they are correct that it is the best. I cheat and use peanut oil because I always have it around and spray butter.

ETA: peanut oil works just fine although for some reason coconut is slightly better. It's hard to describe why and no I haven't had it taste like coconut.

Bag?

I make it on the stove.

No bag enters the equation.

Popcorn makes your dick get hard.

You toss it in a paper bag with salt and put it in a bowl. Savages eat soggy popcorn.

Refined coconut oil has no scent or flavor. Unrefined tastes like coconut.

I always add more butter.  Real butter.  And then sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Ever have popcorn at the movie theater?  Because movie theaters pop theirs in coconut oil.   First time I did this at home, kids thought I was the popcorn God.  Of course I did work in the theater back when Empire Strikes back was on the big screen, so I do have a little bit of popping experience.

Bag? I never eat bagged popcorn, gross. I use either the red or blue popcorn and coconut oil. Way fewer hulls and tastier.

And, adds a stunning amount of saturated fat.

Use olive oil and it will be much healthier.

On the stove, with olive oil, or bacon fat. My prefered seasoning is McCormick's season all with a packet of Splenda over real butter. It's a great flavor that anyone I've ever served it to loves.

And I've also been known to use chopsticks like an earlier poster both to keep my hands clean and as to help slow down the devouring.

I generally pop my own (kernels in a paper bag in microwave) and then add just butter and salt. I'll dump the popped corn out into a bowl to add the toppings.
