I know this has been asked before, as I did the searches. I have contacted a few "buy/sell/auction" sites - two were overseas making the logistics problematic. I never got a response from the U.S.-based site.

A friend passed away and I am selling off his liquor collection. Most of it is high-end scotch and cognac. A good portion of it was bought overseas/travel-only editions.

The widow wants a set amount from all of it, leaving the prices very reasonable.

Does anyone here know a good source to move some of this stuff?  Preferably not one bottle at a time.

Thanks for your help.

I think you need a liquor license to sell booze.

Find a local Liqour Club through Facebook, You  don't need a license to sell privately owned liquor- just like selling a firearm / ammo collection. They'll be banging down her door. If she needs the money , do her a favor and research what she has and get a fair price for it. Some of those bottles might bring a good amount of cash. The export bottles are highly sought after by collectors.

@johndm

I have a friend that is one of the largest scotch collectors in the United States. His personal collection is around 7,000 bottles. If you have a list of the scotch I can get his input/advice. Even if he's not interested he'll know the best way to sell it.
