If you're going to put a brick in your holster make it a G30sf.

I have the following models, G22, G27, G42, G19. My G19 is my favorite to carry, in fact I am getting a new G19mos and putting a red dot on it.

Glock 41.

I wanted a high capacity .45 and that’s what the local Ace Hardware had in stock.

It’s an excellent gun, however I don’t care for Glocks and I seriously doubt I will get another.

A double stack 9mm gen 5 MOS, take your pick. Any other recommendation is LAUGHABLE.

I’ll put a RDS on it, but I’ll let GD tell me which model any why.

Now back to regular fits of coughing.

If you are putting a RDS in it, site radius is irrelevant.   For carrying and handling purposes, a shorter slide is preferable.  Some will argue that a longer barrel gets you more velocity, and while technically true, it doesn't get you anywhere near enough more velocity to matter in any practical way.

So, that narrows the field for 9mms to say  26, 19(x), 45, even 43x or 48.

Personally, I wound up with a 43x MOS.   With a light and a red dot (EPS Carry), it weighs less than a G19.   I shoot it just as well as a 19.  With PSA or Shield Arms mags, it is 15+1, and there are +5 extensions out there.     So for all practical purposes, it's the same amount of firepower as a 19, in a smaller/lighter package.    And I get a light and a dot on my EDC for that.

A G26 would also be a very strong contender.  A bit heavier, though not by much, and it takes standard mags.

If you have different criteria than I do, you would probably come to a different conclusion than I did.

2nd post nailed it.

I like the 45 a lot, but a 19 if you are a little more worried about CCW.

The G18 and or the original 380acp one. Both are pretty scarce in the US

Glock 17 if only one.

G17 and 43 if two.

All of the Glock 9mm if unlimited.

If I interpret the thread title as "just to have one lying around", then I suggest a Gen4 G22 trade-in from Aimsurplus.   $270 before whatever it costs to get one to you.  You can buy a conversion barrel and shoot 9 out of it.  Last week they had very worn versions for $220.

If I interpret the thread title as "if I/you were to purchase only one Glock for keeps", then I say 19x.

I would sound hypocritical if I said my Gen2 19 with Talon granular grips and half moon mag baseplates would likely be the last one I get rid of.  But then you are getting down to individual preferences due to hand size, primary role of weapon, etc., and that may not be the perfect solution for every person.

So, either cheap Gen4 22 or 19x.

I thought this starting in 1997 and after owning three of them, I no longer think this is true.

After changing my thoughts that the 19.3 was the ultimate, then I got a 43X and now think the 43X and 45 are now the ones to own

15-round capacity with a 17 slide

If you don't care about the shorter grip, just buy a Gen 5 17

I have EDC'd a G-26 for 20  some odd year.
Takes all the Mag's.
Recommend G-26.
ms gamboolgal carries a G-26 also.
We have had a couple cut and added Trijicon RMR's.  Aging eyes and all....

If you're putting a rds on it gen 5 G19 MOS or G45 MOS.
If no RDS then the P80 (original G17 repro by Glock) or a G17 or G19 of the gen of your choice depending on how big/small your hands are

I"ve been around the block with most Glock models. I currently only own a G19.5 and a G17.5, neither are mos, but I much prefer the full size grip of the 17 over the 19.

No. Direct mill a 19.5 otherwise the optic sits rather high and need silly tall sights.
