Thank you for this post. Lately I have been overcome with and almost obsessing about all the evil that is going on in our world today. Even today I've had several conversations about how I need to stop worrying about all these worldly things and keep my eyes and heart on God. I loaded up ARFCOM and came to the Religion subforum just to see what folks are talking about, and your post is the first thing I saw. God knew I needed a reminder, and this was it. Thank you. |

Thank you. @cdholmes, Glad you have joined us here. I can relate that sometimes we look around at this world and those who walk the course according to it, can be discouraging. The enemy of our soul wants to create a spirit of fear. JESUS said, "do not fear for I have overcome the world". 1 John 4:4 You are of GOD, sons and daughters, and have overcome them: because greater is He (God's Holy Spirit) that is in you, than he that is in the world. We have overcome in HIM. Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that HE (JESUS' Holy Spirit) which has begun a good work in you will be faithful to perform it (complete it) in you until the day of Jesus the Christ. |

| In this world, it is easy to be overcome by grief and desolation. Without Jesus and what He has done for me, I don't know where I or my family would be. In these past few months, we were hit hard by a loss but knowing there is a good and gracious God, makes all of the difference. I am thankful through the tears and despair, He hears me and comforts me and my family. I look forward to the day I can see Him face to face. Just to be in His presence is enough for me. I rely on 1 John 4:4, "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world". |

We see the results of sin all around us and what is being reaped from it. For the believer in this life we will have trials and tribulations. But GOD, who is faithful and true, has promised He will be with us and get us through. I also rely on the Word from 1 John 4:4, and having to keep in mind also to walk by faith not by sight. JESUS is our peace, our passover, our sabbath rest. JESUS our all in all, the Prince of Peace. |
