I want a traditional, vertical, shoulder holster for my C96.  I want one with a single wide leather band integral to the holster that goes over my left shoulder, and another band going around my torso just below my boobs that connects to forward and rear edges of the holster to keep the whole business positioned under my arm.

Needless to say, no one makes such a thing, but that’s OK since I don’t own a C96 either.

Buy some tanker holster straps and attach a regular holster to it or form the tankers. They are under $40 on amazon

Not a whole lot to say ...  I have the usual two, the left slightly larger, a circumstanuce I attribute to most men being right-handed. As I've said here before, I was pretty proud of them when I was younger.  I wasn’t much for revealing clothes, or flashing crowds, but I’d show them to most anyone who had the nerve to ask, and the manners to do it politely.

Back in my sporting days when I was 120 lbs, gravida 0, I was a 36C+. Now ten pounds heavier and after the best part of forty years  of men and the occasional woman pulling on them, I’m a 38L, and they’re best seen in subdued lighting by someone who already loves me.

At the moment, I’m about $1900 short of the $2000 I’d need to even think about looking for one. But when this little issue resolves itself, I’ll remember to look for military holster options. Thank you

This doesn’t go precisely to your post, but when I was in my early teens, my father told me that right or wrong, it was a man’s world and it would likely remain one throughout my lifetime. “So,” he said, “The smart play for you, is to look like a lady, act like a woman, and think like a man.”

I’ve  done my best to follow his advise and I’ve yet to doubt the wisdom of it.

I had one, a Galco vertical holster system (even though I don't think that is what is what called when I bought it) that I only wore when flying commercial.

That was the only time I ever used it because it was just too uncomfortable for me to sit in an airline seat with a strong side galco pancake holster.

If shtf - I dont care about a lost shirt - just rip it open !

Edit - I have one being made as we speak. Looking forward to trying it.

For my CZ75. I can carry OWB and conceal ok but the belt needs to be snug and that aggravates an old back injury.

Shoulder holster will move that weight off my hips AND two spare mags us a nice counter balance.

I have a Walther P99C that I have been carrying in a shoulder holster I got from Craft Holsters.  I often wear a suit or a sport coat, so its been easy to carry concealed and the fit and function have been great.  I haven't used it a lot in warm/hot weather, but it works great in the fall and winter.  Seems pretty well balanced with the two mag carrier on the other side.  I ditched the belt loop attachments, as I have adjusted it to fit pretty snugly.

I have several I have gathered up over the years. I use them primarily in the winter and under a jacket. When your an old barrel waisted freedom fighter like me, its nice to just slip them on.

Here is one I picked up off ebay for next to nothing because it was misidentified.  I carry my 43X in it.

Since I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back and sac-ill? joint belt carry has become an issue  (100+ jumps with equipment does that to you).  An elegant solution from an earlier time.  Other than that, I carry a Ruger LCP II in a front pocket.

I have an Aliengear shoulder holster that fits my Glock 19 with a RMR and a TLR-7.  My slide was milled by Primary Arms with the rear sight just in front of my optic so I had to dremel just a little bit of the hard plastic but it fits great.

After years of trying IWB (nope!) and the pancake OWB (ouch) I switched to a shoulder holster for my USPC9.  Best move I ever made,  Comfortable in the car and hides well under my zip-up hoodie.  Access time is about the same so nothing lost but a lot of comfort gained.

Advice to those that are thinking about getting one - don't cheap out, get one that is made to fit your gun.  Plan on spending $120 +.

I just sold my Galco VHS with my 1911. I really liked it for winter carry, especially in a car. I pretty much carry front or cargo pocket with my P938 and/or IWB or OWB with my G19 now though.

Not sure if I'll get another VHS though because they just don't make the holsters to hold lights in their VHS line which is kind of a big drawback for me now.

Im in my 30s. I still wear the UTG nylon holster I bought in high school before I could drive. I bought it and a co2 bb gun pistol from CTD back around 2002. Still wear the holster in the winter. It has safely carried everything from a g3c to a g22. Right now I have my smith 59 sitting in it.
Has the velcro adjustable snaps. 2 extra mags

Can't believe some cheap nylon shit from ctd is still surviving 20 years later. I literally bought that holster before I could drive. Crazy how some stuff lasts.

bad back for 30 years. waistband carry of any sort was painful(did a lot of pocket carry)

I use to wear a Galco Jackass a lot(more than anything else) when I carried my S&W 386NG(a 19 snubbie before that), its a very comfortable set up, it still hangs by my desk, its what I still use when I am tromping around the woods.

Also wore an Alessi with a P7M8 quite a bit, thats a nice set up.  and USPc 45 in a Milt Sparks, nice rig but the gun(and spare mags) was kinda fat for the way I carried(and am built)

someplace I have a duel set up for a pair of HK USP 45's and of course the HK MP5K shoulder harness.

last year my back pain went away....did yoga for old dudes and bingo...no more pain, so for the last 6 months I have been wearing a G43x OWB, probably will get a shoulder holster for it, dang thing is the same size as a P7, holds 2 more rds and weights 1lb less

I have an old, beat up Miami Classic that I sometimes wear around the house.  I'd love to make a double pistol rig to wear after the Cascadia Subduction Zone lets loose and establish my reign in the PNW.  They would just be for show of course. I'd have a harem of beautiful women around me at all times with carbines.  But it doesn't look like Galco makes a holster to be carried right side anymore.

The ammo side.

The Classic holds them vertical and has straps to hold them.

The Classic II holds them horizontal and has a tension screw to keep them in.

I have three Mitch Rosen Style Master holsters used for long road trips.  I used to travel long distances quite often by vehicle and the shoulder holster has a few benefits.  It is more comfortable in the vehicle, easier to access when wearing winter clothing, and makes bathroom breaks a bit more convenient.  Drawback is all about the draw, not muzzling yourself and not jamming the pistol into the steering wheel.  A lot of practice and a few courses helped.

I have a Galco VHS that I use with a 6 inch S&W model 19. Not for everyday carry, but for tractor and ATV use. It's the most comfortable way to carry a large powerful revolver for dispatching undesirable critters and occasionally a severely injured cow. I don't like doing the latter.
