I have access to about 1/2 of my garage. I already have an 8' work bench with my lathe mounted on one end. I'm looking at adding in some benchtop setups (planer, router, spindle sander) and maybe getting a universal stand so I can swap them out. How do you store/setup all your various pieces of equipment and still have space to work? |

One wall is just a bench, other wall just storage and also bench for grinder/batteries/drill the last wall is air compressor, media blaster, welder and 6 foot oven. It is a 2 bay garage and tight for a fat guy but I make it work. One day when I grow up I want a real shop. |

That's a few years down the road in projects though. |

My real dream is to do it inside the huge mountain behind me and not need as much climate control. There are so many trees and it is so steep I have no idea how they would do it. |

Space to work? what the hell is that? My work space currently, and probably until I croak, is 13x18 or so. Contractor saw, band saw, planer, oscillating belt/drum sander, miter saw, dust collector, CNC machine, tool chests, hand tools, etc. I do have overhead or loft storage, at least a bit. No, I have no damned space to work. Pretty much everything is a juggling job. Much better than nothing though! |

Small shop blues. Planer, jointer and dust collector are on wheels. I take them outside if I have to do anything over 6’. I made a hd extension cord for 240v so I have power outside. I hire out some big jobs. A cabinet shop has a 36” planer and a 44” belt sander. It’s expensive, but the savings in time is worth it to me. |

I bought all of my woodworking tools to fit my old home that had a garage that was 3 cars wide, with a "hobby" room off to the side that I stored my 14" Jet band saw in along with my 2 Dewalt roll around carts for the planer and jointer. They each got their own cart because I do NOT want to have to pick these heavy ass things up and move them around to set up. My contractor grade Dewalt table saw sits on an old metal typewriter stand with the foot pedal that locks it in place. The fold up cart it came with was just too big, even folded up. New place is a single car garage, but very deep. Almost deep enough for two cars, not quite. But it also has the house HVAC system at the very end as well. Before I could simply roll out the tools needed and go to work. EVERYTHING is on wheels. I cannot stress this enough. Now I have to pull the '66 Mustang out of the garage to set up shop. In the back corner I have my woodworking bench I can pull out and set up for projects as well. All of my small tool storage with things like my hand planes, small power tools like my track saw, skill saw, jig saw, etc are on 18" deep Dewalt shelving along the one garage wall. Everything is in labeled cases of some sort so tools are not falling off the shelf. Shelves are adjustable and extendable. I have one section with only two shelves, but under the shelf is the shop vac and dust deputy for saw dust collection. I also have an old generator that hasn't been run in probably 15-20 years if not more. We also bought a 12X24 storage building that is out front by the driveway (Garage entrance is on the back of the house) that I plan on moving some more crap into this month when we shut down for Christmas. My scrap wood storage will be out front to make room in the garage as well. I keep my riding mower and trailer handy for running wood and tools around as needed. |

Wow, I feel pretty blessed for my 12x20 shed now. Paul Sellers-inspired bench Ridgid R4512 table saw 3'x6' Ron Paulk-like outfeed/assembly table (on wheeled base) 42" mechanics tool chest (because I don't have a garage for it) wood/plywood storage 1.5HP dust collector with 30gall storage+cyclone. 17" bandsaw. standing drill press. So not much, but it's something. |

| My father has the smallest wood shop you could imagine. Smaller than most bedrooms and he builds massive furniture in it. It would blow people away with how efficient it is. Everything has its place and works off the other tools. I’ll try to get some pictures of it and update this post. |

I'm still in the process of building rolling stands for some of my stuff. It's making it easier but it's still plenty cramped. Biggest thing in the shop though, is the CNC table, and not much I can do with that, other than hang the CNC on a wall. Which I don't want to do. |

I have a 1 car garage for my shop. Currently has a 36" sawstop with an outfeed table, mill, lathe, standing bandsaw, drill press, a few tool chests, 2 stage dust collector, sliding miter saw, planer, jointer, spindle sander, belt sander, welding cart, and a bunch of other crap. I'm currently building a 52x42 table for a shapeoko pro XXL. Table saw is the center of the operation. Everything else is around the edges. I've been meaning to build a pole barn and move out there. Its just so convenient having everything in the garage attached to the house. |

And just to show off some of his work, he built all this for me or my kids. Bedroom sets for my two boys. Both are the same but one set is Cherry and one set is Walnut. These are the nicest pieces I think he has made. All real hardwood and real raised panels. And big.    Here he is helping install my bar cabinets that he made. All Walnut raised panels with solid cherry shelves.     |
