Let’s see those sexy 1911s !

Love me some 1911 ! I got a lot of experience with them when I first joined the army in 1987, love those things. Last one I had was a stainless Springfield 1911a1, traded it off a few years back and I still miss it .

Iv owned several 1911s, favorites were Springfield armory trp pistols, worst was kimber.

Found myself a sweet sig sauer STX 1911 at the pawn shop ( all stainless ) and put her on layaway, can’t wait to get it !  Thinking about getting it milled for a red dot, and new sight slot cut on back of slide. Hmmmm.  Need a mess of Wilson combat mags now though and a leather holster. Definitely buying an old school tanker holster, best ever ! Fucking LOVE tanker holsters !

New pistol !

I shoot them well. . Bottom is the awesome TRP !    Top is a dogshit kimber I dumped soon after as it was a UBER jam-o-matic piece of shit reliability wise.

1959 mfg commercial Govt. Model.
Got the Colt Historical letter recently, it was a shipment of 1, shipped directly to an Individual in 1959. Maybe a LEO ? Who knows?

The 1911 is the greatest fighting pistol ever invented.  If you are undergunned w/a 1911, you need a rifle.

This gun is nothing special on its own. Basic RIA .45 Commander.  What is special is that it was one of the last gifts I gave my father. A 1911 was one of his grail guns. Too cheap to even buy a budget one for himself. 6 months later he was diagnosed w cancer. He got to shoot it once before getting too sick.  Once he passed I got it back with the rest of his collection.

I was looking at the NS in 10mm. I may get one after a couple other purchases.

Picking up a revolver this week.
The bottom one is a Kimber 22 conversion.

The burnt bronze one is a caspian frame and palmetto slide that I built a few months ago myself. Had the slide laying around since 2015 and decided to just go ahead and try to build it from scratch. Turned out ok and runs fine so far. I wanted to cerakote it black but a friend told me I should have it bronze. It’s not bad but I kinda wish it was done in black. It’s really more of a sentimental piece now more than a carry pistol. The raider is in 9mm and is absolutely the best bargain 1911 out there. So much fun at the range. The ruger has some rattle to it but it eats everything you feed it

Kimber Compact CDP (Pre-Series II) on the left in a Milt Sparks 60TK and a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec on the right in a Milt Sparks 55BN.  Milt Sparks belt and Milt Sparks mag pouches, all in sharkskin.  Unlike OP, my Kimber is reliable so long as I change the recoil spring every 1K rounds.  I'd like to get a TRP but have no real need for it.

I just picked up this Tisas Stakeout in 9mm/.38 super.  Mostly because I didn't have a .38 Super before.  A Dan Wesson Specialist scratches the .45 itch.  Now I'm thinking I need a commander size gun again.
