I've said it before, but Nyaruko: Crawling with Love is also very good. Feels a lot like Dropkick with the added bonus of being a weird HP Lovecraft homage. Man, you guys have recommended so many for me to watch, I need immortality just to watch them all.
I hate to hurry them by binge watching as they tend to run together after a while. I found the Nyaruko one under Haiyore! Nyaruko-San, the service I use can be sort of confusing if you just search for the English titles. |

Maybe it’s just my imagination, but it seems like ‘people who can see scary beings or manifestations from other dimensions’ is a theme of at least a couple of shows in the new fall lineup - is that some kind of emerging trend, or just a coincidence?

I finished How Not to Summon a Demon Lord yesterday. I thought it was pretty dang good, best of the harem type anime that I have seen.
Binged the whole season of The Sacred Blacksmith today and really liked it. I wish there were about three more seasons, but Funimation only shows the one.

Ascendance of a Bookworm is a really good anime. The author did a phenomenal job of showing how stratification worked in the olden European societies, prior and up to the enlightenment. The icing on the cake was that the author was actually able to back up the old nobilities claim of divine rule, by introducing magic and levels of magic to the story. She even accurately represented the terrible hygiene and daily pitfalls of living in such a society. Really hope they continue on with the anime adaptation of the novel. They have at least 75 to 100+ more episodes of material!

The only one I watched at the start was Baelz's intro. Kronii has the most assertive voice. Sana is a little hard to understand and her large avatar is my least favorite. Mumei is the adorable noob Fauna does sound like she is trying to do a voice. I don't have much time with them, so I can't say who really stands out to me. None of them are out right bad. I mainly just watch Gura, but they keep popping up so I figured I should learn their names at least. |

Korone is my favorite (obviously) but I'm still learning japanese so its hard for me to understand her with how fast she talks. I do like mumei too but i dont have the time to watch them alll. I watched the new version last night, same exact premise, but it was in detail about losing western Japan to the BETAs.
In the 15 version it pretty much skips over it, with just narration as to how it was lost. |

Some new season Crunchyroll musings… YMMV…
takt op.Destiny is based on a really dumb premise - it does have some OK action, but I will have to see a bit more to decide whether or not it’s a ‘keeper’. Platinum End was surprisingly hard-core - I’ll admit that I wasn’t expecting that much darkness based on my first impressions of that airhead angel - and I sure as hell didn’t guess that it was leading to that whole ‘god’ thing. Sakugan is a ‘hot mess’ - thought that it would go on my watchlist but one episode convinced me otherwise. The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated was over the top in its portrayal of evildoers who get their just rewards - it does play some OK mind games, but overall it’s looking like it will mostly disappoint. Muv-Luv Alternative - dumb name, don’t particularly like the alien invaders, but I’m not sure that I’m ready to root for the humans either - some insults directed at the US and its armed forces, not sure whether that is germane to the plot line or whether it is just gratuitous. The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had it Made - feels like it’s a copycat attempt at So I’m a Spider, So What, but the hasty and sloppy execution leaves much to be desired. Unless an anime got a glowing recommendation, I usually will preview the lower shelf releases first, I’ve found a lot of shows I like a lot more than the ones everyone is talking about. For this season definitely check out Mieruko-Chan I have some of the Manga and really enjoyed what I did read plus the artwork is crazy! Saw a recommendation some place to look at Swallowed Star.
It was better than expected - not fond of the style of animation...but it was real enjoyable none the less. It looks like season 2 has been approved with a you tube trailer out there someplace for it. No release date provided. |

I'm on an anime western kinda kick lately so I'm rewatching Desert Punk, Trigun, Gun X Sword and Cowboy Bebop. Man the time span they were released in was fantastic.
