A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics was an unexpected treat. It reminded me a lot of Hinamatsuri. Both of which I highly recommend if you’re looking for a good laugh.

Several good sports animes are Rising Impact (golf) and Hajime No Ippo (Boxing). Both English-dubbed (I hate "reading" movie subtitles) and on Netflix.

Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers was fairly entertaining for a trash isekai. The MC being isekaied from one fantasy world to another was something a little different, but ultimately it didn’t change much.

Any opinions on Black Clover? Good? Bad? What other anime would you compare it to?
It’s been on my watch list for a LONG time, but seeing many “the first 5 episodes are a snoozefest, but after that…” type reviews has always caused me to watch (or rewatch) something else instead. Seeing a consensus that an anime is boring right out of the gate isn’t exactly a great selling point for starting it. |

I'm a fan of Black clover, but you will definitely be annoyed by "that character" Hunter!! It has a good story and some decent fights. It's about 170 episodes to enjoy or despise.

Still no idea who Monica Rial is, or when I’ve heard her voice, but I found Black Clover entertaining enough overall, and I watched the dub. As mentioned, it makes it easier to do other stuff while powering through any slower bits. Have to say, this series was the one that made me start reading reviews before starting a new series. One of the reasons I began the series, was thinking, “17x episodes? OK. I like closure. I’d rather binge a series that’s ended, than get hooked and wait who knows how many years for closure”. Wrong. Dammit. |
