I was intrigued by the first episode, so I pulled up the manga from my usual source, and it looks to be pretty decent. Like a a few steps above popular trash isekai decent.

It's got all our favorites like:
- Long overly specific title.
- Asshole goddess
- MC that's treated like garbage and is out for revenge without being a pussy. (Ulike shield hero)
- MC that's not afraid of women.
- MC that isn't one dimensional in his emotions. (Some characters are a bit one dimensional, but fit the story)
- A more unique OP power set, but it has limitations so it's not too OP.
- Hot elf character without her having to be obscenely obvious.
- A special monster ally.
- Decent story and character development, including background story.
- Good artwork
- VIOLENCE

As I watched ep. 1 I was wondering whether we might be seeing a rehash of "Redo of Healer".

But somehow I don't see him as being the "This rod or my rod" type - at least not yet.

Maybe he'll get there as the story progresses, though.

Similar intro in this one, but his powers are purely status effects. Starting with paralysis and poison. With a limited range, so he has to fight smart to not get killed, but needs to be up close, often well in range of the enemy.

Still OP though.

It's not a redo of redo. Redo comes in hot with the over powered stuff and has all that rape. This one seems to take its time as the MC tries to find a way around the goddess protection magic.

It was slow going.

I kinda sorta have an idea of where it may be headed. Somewhat novel idea - not sure how well they can pull it off.

My own hand-made software is hardly bug-free, though, so I can at least relate.

I just watched the trailer on YouTube - apparently it is available on HIDIVE so I should check it out.

I've never seen a fat elf in real life. Then again, I've never seen any elves in real life.

It seems to have some ecchi content - otherwise how to explain the dark elf wearing what looks like a purple "T-back" under a pair of pants - with the bottom ripped out? Also, seems to have lots of in-your-face oppai. Not exactly "Sugoi Dekai", but instead "No fry, no life"? OK...

Anyway, following up on the earlier discussion of Infinite Dendogram - the name of the series was familiar, so I thought that I must have watched it, but Crunchyroll said that I hadn't, so I've just binged it.

They should have called it "Infinite Mind Fuck" instead.

It was a strange mixture of 'somewhat interesting' and 'holy WTF, Batman'.

Starting (all of the? many of the?) episodes with backstory was often confusing - more than once it made me wonder whether I had missed something crucial along the way - as I often found myself thinking "who the fuck are these characters that I'm watching?". OK, I sort of get it now, and maybe if I should ever go back to the beginning for a rewatch it will all start to make sense. Or, probably not.

And why, kuma, the, kuma, fuck, kuma, does, kuma, his, kuma, older, kuma, brother, kuma, keep, kuma, talking, kuma, like, kuma, that, kuma?

Meow.

Confusion reigned supreme for plenty of other reasons, too. Is he/she a boy or a girl? Really? What the fuck does that have to do with the story, anyway? And why are they on a spaceship?

Oh, and why does Ray Starling wear that stupid coat thing? It was probably explained somewhere along the way, just like why his older brother found it advantageous to dress the way that he did, kuma.

There are so many characters who seemingly should have major roles in the show, based on how often they appear, along with plenty of foreshadowing, but somehow they never seem to have more than bit parts in the show. Are the writers preparing us for future seasons that we may never actually see, or have I missed some other important stuff along the way? And, what's the deal with that loli princess, anyway?

Yeah, I agree with the earlier poster - "here, drink this" - "OK, sure, why not?"

I can’t recall ever in my life seeing more hype (or at least more people talking about it) for a more random anime than that one.

That snip/gif of that song/dance has been everywhere for months.

I enjoyed it, great animation but it was a little slow with the build up. Completely the opposite of The Elusive Samurai which was gorgeous and brilliantly animated.. but it moved so fast I thought I had missed something.

If ya'll want slow Shoshimin was a crawl and I'm not sure what to think about it yet.

Sometimes mindless silly fun is the best. Not often that a good one comes around.

We shall see as more episodes release.

Tower of God is back (on Crunchyroll) with a season 2 after a very long hiatus from the end of season 1.

It has been so long since I last viewed an episode that I have mostly forgotten what it was all about - other than to vaguely recall that it was one of those inscrutable game setups where nobody really knows who, what, when, where, or why - but rumors abound, life is cheap so plenty of people die, and everywhere you look it seems that there's treachery afoot.

While I'm not sure that I am sufficiently invested in it to give two shits about anything that may happen in this season, I will probably watch it as new episodes are released, "just because".

Some ecchi content?
Just watched it, lots of overweight boobs in the first episode, it’d be fan service for Midcap.

ETA…
The fat elf reminds me of Pam from Archer.

I made it through half the first episode of fatty elf before I called it quits. The writing and art are garbage. It'll be a hit with the chubby girl loving cheeto dust covered NEET types just because of the giant mommy milkers.

Shikanokonokonokotoshitantan is the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

OK, it's pretty much a 'given' that the series writer(s) and producer(s) and illustrator(s) must collectively have been under the influence of some particularly 'special' pharmaceuticals in order to come up with such a level of WTF-ness.

What's unclear is whether it's also advisable for the viewers to somehow achieve a similar state of altered consciousness in order to fully realize the impact of watching the show. Also, if any such viewers actually do make it to that level, is there any hope of ever returning to normal afterwards?

Crunchyroll has removed all of it's comments and reviews from the site. On Reddit it's being said they are doing this a la Netflix because some LGBT show got ratioed hard. I don't know if that's true, I don't know what show it is but Reddit, being Reddit, said that homophopic comments were posted and CR decided to end the comments for "user safety."

ETA there are some posts that it was on the shota show where the little boy dresses up like a girl, 7th Prince. Apparently they went in and deleted a bunch of negative ratings as well to boost some shows.

7th prince does more than dress the MC like a girl. MC is drawn as a girl, with all the mannerisms of a girl, and bathes with the girls. Even voiced by a girl.

The only evidence we have that MC is, in fact, male is that the other characters say so. 7th prince may quality as a transgender anime.

It's a tranny thirst trap. Why else would they make the male mc thicc?

7th prince does more than dress the MC like a girl. MC is drawn as a girl, with all the mannerisms of a girl, and bathes with the girls. Even voiced by a girl.

The only evidence we have that MC is, in fact, male is that the other characters say so. 7th prince may quality as a transgender anime.

That’s not really that uncommon for anime.

The whole androgynous bit, or, “Wait, you’re a DUDE?!!!”, and using female voice actors for supposedly male characters who weren’t even small children.

I figured out a "back door" to get Crunchyroll on to my Vizio.  You just have to go through the PRIME app and add it to PRIME.

I got caught up with Demon Slayer, still awesome.

Well that blows.  The episode comments aren’t a massive loss for me, but it really sucks not having the reviews.  Those were great for anime that was borderline on whether to give it a 3 episode try or not.

At least they didn’t go full-blown Netflix and do away with the 1-5 star rating system and replace it with a nigh useless thumbs up/thumbs down system (all because of an Amy Schumer “comedy” special got poor reviews FROM AUDIENCES EVERYWHERE and Schumer publicly blamed right-wingers)…. at least not yet.

EASILY the worst movie/tv show discussion forum loss in the past decade (probably “ever”) was the IMDB boards, IMO.  Like clockwork, whenever I finished a movie or tv show I enjoyed, I went to it’s specific IMDB page to see what people were saying about it (especially various questions people had about the film/tv show with other people answering them).

Sadly, in the past 7 years, no one has stepped up and replaced them.

Ya the whole thing with the true Anime Trap is that it absolutely is a female character.  But they change it to a boy or write them as a boy for the reaction and flavor it adds to the story.

Essentially if the character was female then they would just be boring and basic.  But the dick literally makes it better

So having not seen it.  I assume the whole confusion aspect of 7th prince is holding it up a bunch over lots of female lead isekai/fantasy shows.

Lame things I did decide to watch.

As this season is actually pretty barren for me other than the continuation of shows I've already seen (ie. Tower of Simp 2, Nier Automata 2)

Ossan Newbie Adventurer.

Personally I feel the father/daughter adventurer show handled this kind of thing better.  But it's been fun the first two episodes with the 3rd promising something good.

Strongest magician in the demon lord's army

This one feels much more basic than the other but it's been mostly passable as trash. I see no reason to drop it yet.

The character in the pic below is probably the laziest trap I’ve ever seen.

The character looks, acts, and speaks just like a generic cute anime cat girl and then…. “Haha, she’s actually a guy! We tricked you!”

It seems to be the anime that comes to mind, when the topic of 'laughing so hard that you start having trouble breathing' comes up.

I wouldn’t really count that one. In that case, the physical body actually flips to female.

In the OG Samurai Showdown, I recall thinking, “Is that thing male or female? Because it sounds like a female”, about Amakusa (supposedly male).

Didn’t Subaru freak out in Re:Zero when he realized the neko thing was a dude?

More than a few I can’t recall, because after a while, I simply thought, “Yep. Androgyny or straight up males looking like and being voiced by females… and tentacles… seem to be a thing in Japanese culture/anime”.

Yeah. They definitely dressed and portrayed the character with the looks and mannerisms of a girl.

I never watched it (the anime poster/thumbnail alone set off red flags and multiple people here confirmed my suspicions), but based on the pics I’ve seen, I’m getting some Mare vibes.

I watched some clips and it seems to try and grab something along the lines of kuma kuma or Saving 80,000 gold with Tanya the evil.

Interesting that it wasn't just any old truck(-kun) doing the needful - rather, it was a special-purpose one explicitly made for delivering the protagonist (and those like him) into the other world.

Truck-kun finally has some back story

Looks like it may be a decent and different take on the isekai thing.

A Reincarnated as a Sword supporting character (a year after the anime) is a blue and green eyed blond elf who's been dead a couple thousand years but still hanging around in spirit form. And she's Click To View Spoiler

I haven't seen her in her true form, this is the disguise she used when she first met Fran.
She's a local myth, occasionally meeting people looking like this and then disappearing again.

Her sister is still alive, looks like this, and IIRC they were twins.

While it's different on many levels, I can't help wondering whether the show may have been influenced in part by Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei - as far as the protagonist's repeated failures in the 'jisatsu' (自殺) department, that is...

Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei - Episode 1

You want backstory on Truck-Kun, look up a manga called Isekai Transporter.
It basically the job description with user manual thrown in.
