Tower of God is back (on Crunchyroll) with a season 2 after a very long hiatus from the end of season 1.
It has been so long since I last viewed an episode that I have mostly forgotten what it was all about - other than to vaguely recall that it was one of those inscrutable game setups where nobody really knows who, what, when, where, or why - but rumors abound, life is cheap so plenty of people die, and everywhere you look it seems that there's treachery afoot. While I'm not sure that I am sufficiently invested in it to give two shits about anything that may happen in this season, I will probably watch it as new episodes are released, "just because". |

OK, it's pretty much a 'given' that the series writer(s) and producer(s) and illustrator(s) must collectively have been under the influence of some particularly 'special' pharmaceuticals in order to come up with such a level of WTF-ness. What's unclear is whether it's also advisable for the viewers to somehow achieve a similar state of altered consciousness in order to fully realize the impact of watching the show. Also, if any such viewers actually do make it to that level, is there any hope of ever returning to normal afterwards? |

Crunchyroll has removed all of it's comments and reviews from the site. On Reddit it's being said they are doing this a la Netflix because some LGBT show got ratioed hard. I don't know if that's true, I don't know what show it is but Reddit, being Reddit, said that homophopic comments were posted and CR decided to end the comments for "user safety."
ETA there are some posts that it was on the shota show where the little boy dresses up like a girl, 7th Prince. Apparently they went in and deleted a bunch of negative ratings as well to boost some shows. |

I figured out a "back door" to get Crunchyroll on to my Vizio. You just have to go through the PRIME app and add it to PRIME.
I got caught up with Demon Slayer, still awesome. |

The episode comments aren’t a massive loss for me, but it really sucks not having the reviews. Those were great for anime that was borderline on whether to give it a 3 episode try or not. At least they didn’t go full-blown Netflix and do away with the 1-5 star rating system and replace it with a nigh useless thumbs up/thumbs down system (all because of an Amy Schumer “comedy” special got poor reviews FROM AUDIENCES EVERYWHERE and Schumer publicly blamed right-wingers)…. at least not yet. |

EASILY the worst movie/tv show discussion forum loss in the past decade (probably “ever”) was the IMDB boards, IMO. Like clockwork, whenever I finished a movie or tv show I enjoyed, I went to it’s specific IMDB page to see what people were saying about it (especially various questions people had about the film/tv show with other people answering them). Sadly, in the past 7 years, no one has stepped up and replaced them. |

ETA there are some posts that it was on the shota show where the little boy dresses up like a girl, 7th Prince. Apparently they went in and deleted a bunch of negative ratings as well to boost some shows. The only evidence we have that MC is, in fact, male is that the other characters say so. 7th prince may quality as a transgender anime. That’s not really that uncommon for anime. Ya the whole thing with the true Anime Trap is that it absolutely is a female character. But they change it to a boy or write them as a boy for the reaction and flavor it adds to the story. Essentially if the character was female then they would just be boring and basic. But the dick literally makes it better So having not seen it. I assume the whole confusion aspect of 7th prince is holding it up a bunch over lots of female lead isekai/fantasy shows. |

The character looks, acts, and speaks just like a generic cute anime cat girl and then…. “Haha, she’s actually a guy! We tricked you!” Attached File |

I wouldn’t really count that one. In that case, the physical body actually flips to female. In the OG Samurai Showdown, I recall thinking, “Is that thing male or female? Because it sounds like a female”, about Amakusa (supposedly male). Didn’t Subaru freak out in Re:Zero when he realized the neko thing was a dude? More than a few I can’t recall, because after a while, I simply thought, “Yep. Androgyny or straight up males looking like and being voiced by females… and tentacles… seem to be a thing in Japanese culture/anime”. |

I never watched it (the anime poster/thumbnail alone set off red flags and multiple people here confirmed my suspicions), but based on the pics I’ve seen, I’m getting some Mare vibes. Attached File |

Looks like it may be a decent and different take on the isekai thing. |

While it's different on many levels, I can't help wondering whether the show may have been influenced in part by Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei - as far as the protagonist's repeated failures in the 'jisatsu' (自殺) department, that is...
