Women during a fight? (Page 1 of 2)

Has the presence of a woman ever made a physical conflict better? Now the real question. How much restraining of the husband/boyfriend's hands does she have to do to be considered arrestable for domestic violence? It doesn't seem like a huge stretch to see her grabbing him as something bad enough to warrant a trip before a prosecutor. |

This is pretty much standard behavior for women that haven’t been properly brought up. They get in the way, want to prevent anyone from getting hurt and shy away from violence. They have no frame of reference for how men handle various situations. Mostly because their father never sat them down and explained to stay out of the way in a fight as that is the most help. |

I was thinking the old guy was lucky to have encountered a bum who was all bark and no bite, because you’re right. The old guy moves like an old guy (with no training). If the bum were an actual violent thug, the old guy would’ve been KO’ed (or stabbed. Bum had something in his hand. Can’t really make out what), and maybe never woken up (or bled out on the sidewalk), over what? Indignation? He had the opportunity to walk away, but chose to go after the bum. It’s pretty clear that BOTH the old man and old woman are unused to violence (women who aren’t used to violence tend to try avoidance at all costs. They don’t understand that holding onto their guy is hampering his ability to move and respond), but in this case, unlike all the women haters in GD, I’d say she’s ignorant (doesn’t know better, and until someone else explains things to her, about not hampering a guy in a fight, will remain ignorant), but the old guy was STUPID. Choosing to engage against a younger guy, when he could’ve walked away after throwing that chicken kick (what we call it when people need to flap their arms when throwing a pathetic kick). If the bum was holding a stabby object, then the old guy was REALLY stupid AND lucky. |

And if the "fight" went the other way and the unhomed person started beating the hell out of the older guy, she would be screaming like a banshee that would make a deaf man cry in pain. Now, a keeper would quietly stay out of the way and watch his back and alert him if anyone was coming up behind the older guy. That's what a solid partner would do, But a warrior woman would take care of the guy coming up behind him and neutralize the threat and if Odin favors the battle, she would blood eagle him. |

My now BIL had a party at his house. My now wife and I atteneded. She was 16ish and I was 19 ish. I invited my squad to come along. Her older brother, who looked like Axel Rose decided to poke fun at a ranger who was built like a fire plug. Kinneson, was his name. They stated the "gonna fight" dance and my now SIL decided to defened her brother just as Kinneson decided he'd had enough of the hippy talking trash. She took it full on the face and fell like a 2x4, and then K fucked up my now BIL. She and I still laugh about that night. Don't fuck with rangers. don't fuck with drunk rangers. Being older, stiffer, slower and weaker, are one thing, but people who’ve trained in some form of fighting don’t lose the skills, and it’s pretty obvious from watching someone in a fight, whether they’ve (ever) had any decent training. Watch an 80 year old guy with a boxing background. His speed is way slower. His power is wayyyy down, but his guard, posture, footwork, balance, hip torque when punching... You’ll still see all those (as an example, I was pretty blown away to realize that Hugh Jackman has ZERO real training in any real striking. This became abundantly clear when watching Real Steel where he’s supposed to be an ex-pro boxer. When they show him training to get back in shape to train Atom, he throws combos that are arm punches, because he doesn’t have the training for proper body movement. Good way to injure a shoulder, especially the way he throws hooks/uppercuts, while developing very little power in the punches). That you can’t immediately see what the other guy is talking about tells us both that you don’t have any formal training/experience, but even inexperienced/untrained folks should be able to see the difference between these below. It’s been a LONG time since I got in a fistfight, but the last one I remember, my GF was unfortunately present for it. Shortly after this fight started, she started crying hysterically and latched onto my waist while screaming “don’t hit my boyfriend!” So now I’m getting punched by a dude and simultaneously trying to block his punches and pry her off of me. I was getting the shit kicked out of me and finally managed to *toss* her on the ground and fight back. The whole way home afterwards, she was mad at me for throwing her off of me when “she was trying to help”.

Have you ever seen the video of the grey haired, former Marine, on a City bus - that just absolutely ends up owning a Colored Gentleman 1/3rd his age, that would not leave him alone? He beat his ass, once there was no alternative. (One of my favorite all time video's) I somewhat joke with younger guy's "I'd give you the worst Senior Citizen beating, you ever had in your life." I'm 65' 6'1" 215lbs, former Military & I grew up fighting, have some training, and having grown up as an "Army brat" - so I was always the "New Kid," on the block. It's all about situational awareness, being willing to engage (if absolutely necessary) and having the mind-set and capacity/capability to do so. Not trying to claim I'm some "Billy Bad Ass," but I can (and will) take care of myself. *As far as the OP's question of Women around a fight? Get the Hell out of the way. |

Most women have never been in fights, so what guys who’ve had training, or at least been in multiple fights have learned, isn’t intuitive/instinctive to them. Women who’ve had some kind of fight/martial arts/MMA training are different. They understand that someone engaging/about to engage in a fight do NOT want to be hampered. If your wife/GF/daughters have no training/experience, it’s the guy’s job to explain things to them BEFORE a situation arises. Explain to them, “If it looks like something is about to go down, get behind me, and don’t hold/cling on to me. I need to be able to move, if I have to physically defend us both. DO NOT get between me and the aggressor”. A keeper understands that if violence appears imminent, she gets behind me to cover her draw, where the scumbag can’t see it. If your woman carries, teach her this. |
