The 3rd Resident Evil movie was fucking appalling, and I had tolerated the 1st and enjoyed the 2nd.

Woulda walked out and gone to a bar if I hadn't been the one in the group driving.

Gone Fishing with Joe Pesci and Danny Glover.
I actually complained to the manager at the theater that the movie sucked a dead dog's dick and he gave me free passes to another movie.

Manos: The Hands of Fate makes every other movie mentioned so far a Best Picture Winner.

Except Hurt Locker and Chariots of Fire.  They get two.

Manos is pretty terrible but it barely qualifies as a movie.   Certainly not a big budget one.   Should be in a separate category.

As far as big budget blockbusters go... I'd have to nominate Battlefield Earth

USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage

The worst movie I have seen in recent memory.  Those men deserved a good movie and got dishonored with this garbage.  The only decent part of the movie was the end credits where they interviewed survivors of the ordeal.

I agree.  Horribly bad movie made from such compelling source material

The BOOK, however, is quite good.

The movie I hated most was Ravenous.

You have to GET it.

Battlefield Earth is 1940s or so pulp magazine Science Fiction.  It is a massive story in that vein.  Far longer than you would have gotten inthat original format.  It is enjoyable as an expanded example of that genre.

The movie was horrible, but I loved.
At the time, it was a modern big budget version of a cheesy Sci fi movie.  If you went to see it, expecting something along the lines of They Live, it delivered.  I think people were expecting a Star Wars or something.  Over the top crappy acting, implausible events, over simplified, etc.  I actually loved it the same way I loved They Live.

Some movies are just meant for a certain niche.
If you are a connoisseur of very high end scotch, and you go to a very expensive social function expecting it, and you get handed a mason jar of corn mash, you are going to be disappointed.

If your plan is to go to the cabin for a week and knock back some moonshine at the end of the hunt, it is just right.

For example, Bubba Ho Tep in a no budget nonsensical movie with poor production values.  But if you are up for an off the wall concept and some Bruce Campbell, it is hilarious.

I have to disagree. I saw most of it on cable TV and I had no clue what to expect because I knew nothing about this movie, except that John Travolta was the star and it was based on a L. Ron Hubbard (Hubbard in real life, was an idiot cult leader of idiot followers: something to do with waiting to be evacuated off the planet Earth by a spaceship of Extraterrestrial aliens that was supposed to pick them up, but, never showed up) sci fi story he wrote. Anyway, I wasn't expecting greatness, but, I was still underwhelmed with the tripe that it was. It was a total waste of money, time, and effort by everyone involved in producing that tripe.

Now, Bruce Campbell and "Bubba Ho Tep" is a class above, way above "Battlefield Earth" and most everything that Bruce Campbell is in is much better that most all of John Travolta's work. The Evil Dead movies are much better than anything that Travolta has done. "Battlefield Earth" is simply a bunch of crap. Even Bruce Campbell's short role in "Wax Work" is much better than Travolta in "Battlefield Earth."

"The Master Gunfighter," with Tom Loughlin as star, writer, and director. He used pseudonyms for the last two jobs. I don't blame him. Pre-Civil War samurai western about saving an Indian tribe from bad white guys who want to exterminate them. Loughlin pretty much plays Billy Jack, without the concise writing and expert direction of the Billy Jack movies (yeah, I know what I'm saying), but with even more stupid-ass slo-mo. There's a LeMat revolver, and Barbara Carrera. Both are wasted. I couldn't walk out because I was watching my nephew for the evening, and he was pretty sure the flick would get better as it went along. Welcome to life, kid, in it's disappointing glory.

ETA - The Highlander movie based off the newer TV series with Adrian Paul was pretty bad too.

Yeah, Gregory Widen has some sort of sequel curse.

He will do a knock out, interesting screen play-
Creating a whole new world and concept-

Like Highlander, Prophecy, backdraft.

If they do a sequel,
It will suck balls in s ledgendary fashion.

If they ever do a sequel to backdraft, I suspect it will fall prey to the curse.

I will grab B level or worse heinlein and Phillip k dick movies, a box of wine, some weed, and a couple of chicks with low self esteem that reek of desperation.

The only movie I ever walked out on was back in the '70's. A vile piece of dreck called "Cabaret".

It is beyond a doubt the worst movie I've ever paid to see. We lasted less than 30 minutes and bailed.

I also hated Forrest Gump. That one had me walking out of my living room to avoid the stupidity.

To think it beat out Shawshank Redemption that year. Unreal.
