The mom parked her car on a sidewalk so her daughter could sell Girl Scout cookies. The mom got $400 in fines from a code enforcement officer. I guess it was a parking ticket? Never heard of a $ 400 parking ticket https://cowboystatedaily.com/2024/04/23/wyoming-girl-scout-13-fined-400-for-selling-cookies/ |

Click-bait thread title.
The fines had nothing to do with selling cookies, and everything to do with using a sidewalk as a parking lot. |

Code enforcement officers are the biggest bunch of hall monitor dorks you could ever imagine. I've worked with a few.

Parking your car on a sidewalk?
Good ticket. Finding it hard to give a damn about this one. |

Bad juju will fall upon the code enforcement officer. I predict a painful rectal itch.

Apparently she paid over $500 in legal fees to get her $400 in fines reduced to $150. So I'm guessing not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

I live in a residential neighborhood and a guy down the block tows cars and fixes them in his garage for people, now he is running a yard sale everyday out of hiss front yard too. Call the city ya we will send someone and nothing happens. Another house farther down burned to the ground leaving and exposed basement 2 years ago, and nothing gets done with that property too |

That’s a real go-getter attitude towards law enforcement. I’d like to recommend a promotion to the big time, in one of the blue hives.
I’d venture a guess that there’s a political difference between the parties involved, and cookie mom has vehicle stickers that triggered the code nazi. |
