jimmy carr is good stuff. not to everyone's taste, because he goes places that really offend. but as he points out again and again, it's about soliciting endorphins, and not anything else. i think the fact that he so easily interacts with the audience is remarkable. he invites hecklers and then has a good time with it, and is so quick to connect some new aspect of the show with one of the prior hecklers. keep in mind a lot of his confidence is borne from the fact that he is quite highly educated. he went to Cambridge and had a job at Shell Oil in marketing before starting in on comedy. along with his standups, he does comedy-based game shows, the more famous of which is Countdown in several incarnations. in Countdown a bunch of comedians and guests roast the crap out of each other while playing a word game, it's an interesting watch.
