They're going to solve world hunger with mealworm burgers.. yummy. The say that mixed with sugar the worms taste like real meat... Sure. Sounds just like how my shit mixed with sprinkles tastes like ice cream. You need to read this shit. They could be made into worm mcnuggets, worm dogs, worm protein powder.. the possibilities are endless. The best part? They're good for the environment of course. They have a much smaller carbon footprint than traditional farming, so they're good to go at the altar of green. So how do you like your worms? Medium or rare? You will eat the worms and you will like it. Why do you hate the planet? Don't you want to save it?? The contents of your new burger:  what your worms eventually turn into/come from

I don't want sugar in my foods. I go to great lengths and out of my way to ensure the majority of my diet is absent of it. And I cook about 95%of my meals at home.

You could imagine many restaurants having their own living supply of worms that they breed in the restaurant to essentially eliminate their supply costs for the "meat".

I suspect these types of protein alternatives will become more widely adopted in poorer countries first, excluding some "specialty" spots in the first world.
In places like Africa where people can't afford to eat, better tech around insect food options make a lot of sense. |
