more than 10k cash and I think you have to give the bank notice.
also if you take out more than 10k in cash the bank will notify the IRS that it happened. |

I was paid via gym bag full of 5000 one dollar bills yesterday.
My friend is an asshole. |

My co-worker was sellin a Harley a few years ago, and a dude from 3-4 hours drive away called him and said he was heading this way. 3-4 hours later he showed up with $20k in cash. He looked like he could be cast in the reality show Gold Rush and the money was 2 vacuum sealed bags with $10k in each and was dirty like he just dug it out the back yard.

Quoted: I’d do it in $100 bills. It’s only 300 of them, takes about 3 minutes to count. I’d also have a buddy that’s a cop supervise, if not available have an armed friend on over watch. View Quote Ain’t nobody got time for that. Counting to 300 is hard. 500€ notes or Bellagio chips please. |

Quoted: Whatever you do, don't go to the bank and ask for cash or they'll look at you like you sprouted a dick from your forehead. Quoted: Have him meet you at your bank and deposit the cash on the spot or have them run it through their machine to verify and take said cash home. I sold a vehicle for a little less than that. 1/2 cashiers check, 1/2 cash. If it’s 100’s it’s not really that much to count. Just do stacks of 10 bills and sample the bills to verify they’re real. View Quote Did you even read the OP? He wants to buy something so why would he be depositing the money in his bank. |

You tell him to meet you at your bank where he can watch them make a certified check for him.
Done |
|
Go with him to your bank and request an cashier's check in his name in his presence. Then hand it to him and he will hand you the item. Done.

View Quote This is a bad decision nowadays. What do you do when some young cat runs off with yours stack of cash? You can’t shoot him(well, you CAN, but you will go to prison). Meet at the bank and have it transferred or wired from buyer to seller. Plus buyer doesn’t have to raise red flags when he deposits $30k cash. |

Go to your bank.
Get 3 $10,000 bills. (You may have to give them a few days advance notice.) Meet the guy. Hand him the 3 bills...THAT YOU'VE ALREADY TORN IN HALF! Get the thing. Send him the other halves of the bills. Do it. |

Banks haven't had a lot of cash on hand for about a hundred years. You can do a wire or cashiers check.
|
|
|
Try to push for a cashiers check and let seller accompany you if they are a hard ass.
If it needs to be cash then you need to call the bank in advance and make sure they have enough money. Also, anything over 10k requires the bank to fill out a form 8300 for the IRS. The teller is required to ask why you need so much cash, if he/she does not like your answer then they fill out a suspicious activity report, and that goes up the chain. To avoid this, if it needs to be cash have a bill of sale or a legit invoice for the amount. State it's to pay for said item, etc etc. Thank your government overlords for making withdrawing large amounts of cash a miserable experience. |

The "thing" my son bought was over $70K. Bank check FTF at the bank. Smooth deal.

If it is for a gun, make sure that you take it into the bank with you. The nice officers that arrive shortly will help to make sure things go smooth.

About 20 years ago I bought a used car. The guy wanted all cash. I called my bank. They had me go to the main branch to get that much cash. I was more concerned about getting robbed at the bank than the exchange. Luckily no drama at either. Today I would figure out how to wire/transfer the money.

Cashiers check or cash @ the local pd dept parking lot. They’ll have cameras.
