So fix it.  Your body isn't aware that you are going to retire on X date and it doesn't care.  It's not going to wait, the damage is happening right now.  If you can stop that damage from happening with a pill, until you can lose the weight or whatever, why the balls would you not?

You have to stop eating whatever you are eating, that is really hard on your kidneys; the condition of your kidneys will determine how long you will live

Gotta stay away from pastas and any white wheat-based products or eat an absolute minimum amount of it. I think corn is okay as they have a pretty low glycemic  rate. I eat mostly veggies & mushrooms, along with cheese, eggs etc. Eat just plain rolled oats in oat meal for breakfast, it will take 5-10 minustes to cook, and not the 3minute or 1minute kind. I put raisins and chopped almonds in mine, some people put in granola.

I have been told to keep my blood sugar from 100-125, my A1C is 6.6

Good luck!

Except we aren’t talking about type 1. Comparing type 1 to type 2 is apples to oranges.

And no, cardio doesn’t transform the body in 24 hours, but try it for a couple weeks and watch the changes in not only the numbers but how one feels overall.

Regular cardio doesn’t cure everything, but it’s the one thing that can fix many issues.

My T is in spec., so I'm no expert, but there are testosterone experts here that inject regularly. I would think that the ultra low T is exacerbating his other problems. And T that low guarantee's Erectile Dysfunction.

Libido is unchanged. Skin is a little more oily and prone to breakouts, but manageable with proper skin care. I get Sotopelle injectable pellets every 6 months. Not covered by insurance, and totals about $800/year. They can be used to manage testosterone and estrogen and have no known links to cancer, unlike other female hormone management regimens.

My wife gets pellets quarterly for $275/round.  Went from zero libido for previous 10 years almost to fucking like rabbits when the first round kicked in.   She's finishing year 2 now and it's been great.   With a kidney transplant, none of her normal docs would even entertain estrogen replacement.

My diabetic neighbor 10 plus years ago first lost part of a leg to diabetes.

Then she had to go on dialysis 3 times per week.

For me, though, the kicker was when she called the police while she was hallucinating to say that she heard a woman screaming from inside my house.

Two of the local Barney Fife’s were dispatched to my house.

There are about 6 different ways shit could have gone sideways….

All because the bitch next door couldn’t stop eating sweets/carbs.

She died.

She left behind two teenaged kids…and from my facebook stalking they both appear to still be fucked up by their mom’s death.

Earlier this year, I had started a thread in Team about my experience with my glucose meter.

I am not diabetic.

At least not yet.

I would prick different fingers.  Do the ring finger on the my right hand.  Then immediately prick the ring finger on my left hand.

If my memory is correct, I could have 20 point differences between hands.

And again, if my memory is correct, I could have 10 point plus differences between different fingers on the same hand.

I did a two day fast and kept checking my blood sugar like 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 hours etc since I last ate.

IIRC, my glucose got down into the high 80’s .

Anywhoooo….the impression I got from my thread was that drugstore level glucose meters are horribly inaccurate.

EDIT:  left vs. right hand

A spike in blood sugar in the morning is not unusual.

I think folks with the Dexcom’s normally see the spike start while they are still sleeping though.
